So You Don't Know Why Miles Might Want to Start Jefferson?

Jefferson Is A Damn Good Rusher
Some posters complain that every time Jordan Jefferson runs, he takes a carry away from a more effective runner.
Some posters complain that Jordan Jefferson should not carry the ball because we have RBs who can carry the ball.
There are only two RBs on the team who have more yards per carry that Jefferson: Ford and Blue.
What makes the statistic more remarkable is that Jefferson's 4.1 ypc includes sacks.
Jefferson is more effective rushing than Ware, Hilliard, Magee, and Gore.
Moreover, LSU runs the ball better when Jefferson is on the field. Not just because he is an effective runner at 4.1 ypc, but also because he is an effective threat to run at the snap even if someone else ends up carrying the ball.
Jefferson Is A Damn Good Passer Too
Jefferson's Passing Efficiency has been hugely impressive starting with the Alabama game in 2010. Slice it anyway you want. Use Jefferson's 2011's stats (QB Rating of 176.4; #5 ranking). Use Jefferson's last 8 SEC games (QB Rating of 164.7; #7 ranking). Use all of Jefferson's games starting with Bama in 2010 (QB Rating of 159.7; #11 ranking). (Rankings were interpolated using NCAA stats.)
Similarly, the Yds/Attempt, TD%, and Int% statistics and rankings are all damn good.
The Completion Percentage might not be great; however, considering the competition and the yards per attempt, it's still pretty damn good.
LSU's QBs have some bad history. LSU's QBs had some bad stats in 2008 through 2010. Crowton is gone.
Look at the difference in both Lee and Jefferson from 2010 and 2011.
Lee went from 119.9 (bad) to 151.5 (damn good).
Jefferson went from 114.7 (bad) to 176.4 (damn good).
Look at Danny O'Brien too. Where are all of the posters who predicted that the Terps would take off with Crowton? Where are the posters who said that Jefferson and Lee were holding Crowton back?
QB Ratings 2010
Jarrett Lee: 119.9
Jordan Jefferson: 114.7
Danny O'Brien: 134.5
QB Ratings 2011
Jarrett Lee: 151.5
Jordan Jefferson: 176.4
Danny O'Brien: 109.6
I'm not saying that Miles should start Jefferson.
However, if Miles does start Jefferson or give him significant playing time, now you know why.

Congrats! JJ wins the fantasy football matchup
We score more when JL is starting and JJ comes in situationally. It's a fact

That is a ridiculously slanted stat based on a small sample of throws would you say?
He went 8-14 1 TD against a shitty team.

Please answer the following questions.
Prior to the alabama game, what about LSU's offense dont you like and why would you want to change?
TIA.

+1
but the JJ crew will continue to use stats to justify the A -- Kissing.
Frankly, it is wake up time..
we have 2 QBs, the senior season is almost over, they will both be gone.... we use them both.

People who are firmly entrenched in the "camp" of one quarterback or the other, and never tire of letting you in on that fact: The most played out thing on this site EVER.

JJ started once and we scored 42 pts. Isn't that above our season average? Your statement is not a FACT.

I agree the one game is a small sample size but the post bama 2010 game he has a 159 qb rating over a large sample size. JJ has gotten much better throwing the ball and something clicked starting in the second quarter of that game. Do I think we should continue to start Lee? Yes. Should we let Jefferson throw it more when hes in? IMO yes.

I really don't see this post as that, merely pointing out that there is absolutely no reason to pretend that the insertion of Jefferson into the lineup means instant doom and the likely collapse of Tiger Stadium as it's portrayed by some.

Jefferson Is A Damn Good Passer Too
In the 'bama game, if the pass to Shepard is on the money, it's a touchdown.
In the WKU game, on one drive,
if the pass is accurate to Clement, it's a touchdown,
if the pass is accurate to Beckham, it's a touchdown,
finally, he throws an accurate two-yard pass for the score.
Maybe he was just trying to give the defense a rest.

Gore has 8 carries? Where have I been?

Our O preforms much better when Lee is on the feild. You can play with stats all you want but our O is much better when JJ comes off the bench and RUNS the ball. Lee should be the go to guy. He has performed great all year long and is the main reason we are 10-0.
