The fact that they called a pass with one receiver, whom was doubled covered, infuriates me.

Why?

Simple as pie. WR is doubled? Fine.

If JJ doesn't recognize the coverage before hand and check out of the play, then he just throws the ball away as soon as he does see the route coverage. Zero risk.

Left DT ran a stunt thru the opposite side of the OL...JJ had 3 seconds from the time he planted his right foot...by then he either needs to let it go to the receiver or throw the ball out of bounds...JJ held the ball to long once again in a critical down and distance scenario...

He had plenty of time he pumped once and pulled it back down you have to make that throw its a timing throw. Make the throw or throw it away horrible safety.

I counted just under 4 seconds. The ball should have been released at 3 either to or over the head of the single covered receiver. This was a mental fault of JJ's.

What should infuriate you is a senior QB with over 30 starts still can not handle the basics of the position in critical down and distance situations...

Statements like this show truly how stupid our fans are. You have never played QB maybe not even football. The best Qb in the world did the same exact thing last night.

Coaches had already decided it was better to concede the series and punt than drive the field. There is no shame in this. The play was a one shot oppurtunity. If it is covered you lose the down. It is a safe play with maximum protection, 9 players, to prevent a saftey. You know they are going to bring the house. JJ has to get rid of the ball faster. He has to understand the situation.

He has not, he did not, and dare I say he does not.

This doesn't really matter and I'm kinda glad that moral victory wasn't taken away from them, but would roughing the passer normally have applied here for the head tackle?

Against the a top tier NFL defense, yes, he did.

He held a ball longer than he should have on a one man route with receiver double covered. It happens. Players get sacked, players fumble/throw interceptions, players drop passes and miss tackles. Drew Brees throws some bad interceptions and gets sacked. Tom Brady took a safety last night just like JJ. Maybe they should play the backup since getting sacked for a safety or holding the ball too long is such a terrible thing to do.

In baseball guys strikeout, make errors etc Making bad plays applies to all sports. Still if ref had called it right it would have been a 15yd penalty.

He is protected as well as any QB in the league and had 4 men in the route. Are you saying he didn't hold on to the ball too long?

I agree to an extent but the play more than likely called for him to bolt if the coverage was there...it was and he didnt. Unfortunately this is a re-occurring issue with JJ akin to JLee and the pressure crumble.

Doesn't matter the view, he held the ball to long and needs to throw it away. He has a history of this, and he hasn't learned. JL throws the ball into double and triple coverage. Pick your poison.

That was a "facemask" last week in T-Town.
