You are really saying that in punting and kicking pressure isn't a big difference maker? All I can say is you are wrong. Coaches try to freeze kickers all the time, so obviously coaches agree that it is a big difference maker.

at LSU fans claiming offensive superiority to anyone.

La Tech 399 yards of offense per game
LSU 357 yards of offense per game.

LSU doesn't punt as much as Tech because LSU's offensive strategy drains the game clock. Tech runs uptempo. I'm not willing to spend my time looking it up, but I'd venture a guess that Tech averages more offensive possessions per game than LSU.

ETA: Tech averages 78 offensive plays per game. LSU averages 65.

So should Brad Wing the left footed punter win, or Brad Wing the right footed punter win ? Can Ryan Allen do that ?

I don't have a dog in this fight. I don't really give two shits about what awards a punter wins. I'm merely here to clear up the ignorance on display from some LSU fans in this thread.

To claim Tech has no offense is non-nonsensical. LSU's offense is nowhere near impressive but its ultra efficient.

You beat a team who runs a passing offense in a hurricane with a 17 year old QB with a 5th year senior at QB for your team

so the tropical storm was within the hurricane?

are you really gonna be picky about a bowl? We should be happy if we get invited to a bowl in Wooster, Ohio.

I'd venture that its more to do with defensive superiority. When Wing pins back LSU's opponents they tend to stay back. LSU hasn't had the opportunity to gain as many yards because sadly they've had a short offensive field for a large # of possessions. 300+ yards a game working short field is ultra impressive. I'd also like to see the total distances Allen had to work with on his inside the 20 punts. Wing's been doing it from varying distances on less attempts.

Plus he got a TD called back for taunting a 2 time BCS champ. Did Allen do that?

return yards against.

Te difference in avg is 2.5, not sure to be honest if that's a lot or insignificant. I'm not sure why you think its so much more impressive to have a better % of punts inside the 20 vs touchbacks? Maybe La Tech is better at downing the ball? Maybe they are facing punt returners that are not as good as LSU faces?

His longest punt was one yard longer, Allens punt was stopped by Chad Bumphis and it could have been longer

I could get a 99 yds if it rolled long enough, that's completely irrelevant.

I have to be honest bro...If I was arguing that my shitty teams punter is the best in the country...in some sad manner to validate that there is something good about my team...I'd probably end it all.
