You guys that hunt Texas, is your property under the MLD program? I have read that the state issued tags on the $315 license are not used. The MLDP tags are. Would this change the license bought?
I asked the DNR and they sent me the MLDP info but, of course it does not state what license is to be used.
I spoke the person that invited me and they said the 5 day deal would be good enough.
Thanks

Don't think that's right. Pretty sure there aren't any exceptions for whitetails. Call Texas WLF and ask I guess.

The MLDP tags are for does. To shoot ANY whitetail you need the $300 license. If you get caught without one (with a dead deer) the total fines are >$1,000. That's about $300 fine plus about $800 restitution fee.
Maybe your friend has a lic and you could claim he shot it. If you don't have a dead deer just say you're hog hunting.
