How many good hits did we get on Bama's QB?

The lack of pass pressure was disappointing at times, even when we rushed more guys than usual.
The sack in OT was nice, but it was more about the QB falling to the ground than getting hit.
How many times did we get a big lick on him?

Few rushes and zero solid hits if my memory serves me correctly.

Bama line had lots of takedowns. They were do-si-do-ing all night long.

Yeah, but he was flushed by the double corner blitz (!!! - talk about gutsy, Brooks AND Mathieu), and some contact from earlier.
We were getting a good push on most obvious passes. I think Montgomery and/or Mingo were around AJ most of the time on any of the slow developing passes (he got the ball out quickly on some 3 step drops and screen/flat passes).
There was a sack in regulation that was very similar to the on in OT, either Brooks or Mathieu flushing McCarron (Mathieu, I think).
Give the Bama OLine credit - they protected him fairly well from hard hits and sacks.

This is what worries me about Arky. The pressure wasn't that great.

Pass rush for most of the game was similar to WVU game, holding lanes and containment. Mcarron is no Geno Smith.

It should be stated that there were several holding that were missed, if that makes you feel better.

Wilson was getting abused by Vandy's pass rush, so I think our guys will wreak havoc on Arky's OL. Arky's OL is nowhere near as good as Bama's.

Every time Mingo speed rushed, he was held in some way, at least that the ones I saw clearly.

Come on. This was the best offensive line we will face all year. That isn't really even debatable. We didn't go after the QB is why he wasn't sacked more. Les didn't think their QB was all that great but did think TR was great. So he put the burden on the LB's and CB's to guard guys instead of getting burned by big plays from easy throws to TR out of the backfield.

i didn't see this. in fact, i was amazed at how much time he had to throw the ball.

A lot of our rush was to fill the gaps as opposed to go after the QB. We succeeded in doing what we set out to do in that regard.

I have to admit the AL Oline was better than ours.

If you watch it again, you will see it was similar to the scheme LSU had vs WVU. I really dislike it, but against a QB like McCarron it worked.

Focused more on stopping Trent. Players were also focused on the possibility of a screen play, even though it worked a few times

We held Trent to under 100 rushing by plugging the gaps and keeping our lanes and containment. Everyone said before the game if we force AJ to beat us, we will win.
Looks like that is exactly what happened.

Credit their OL - they protected well. Not so sure we were out to get him every time though.

Their Oline is always pretty good. Their QB is improving and is a good passer, better than ALs.
