Friends from Auburn and Bama have done this in each of the past two years - if you're confident in the Tigers you'll get half-priced tickets (Stubhub has the cheapest at $1100+).

Just go to the official Sugar Bowl website and click the team reservation banner at the top, or follow the link below:

Before the game Saturday, Bama options were selling at ~$500

no refund, have to make the game. big spike in prices after Saturday's game but still quite a bit cheaper than the Alabama ones were going for going into Saturday (~500)

This is just a legal gamble for the right to buy $300 tickets at face. So if you buy a reservation at $400, two tix cost you $1400(correct?). I have a feeling stubhub will have tix <$700 ea if you wait.

So you are paying the reserve fee then pay for tickets at face if your reserve team makes the game? If team doesn't make it then u still pay reserve fee? Sugar bowl is making out like bandits...

Yeah, that's correct. It essentially works like a stock option with a set call price (face value). I agree that it doesn't seem like all that great of a deal at this point, could probably find them at or close to $700 IMO.

Risk not worth the reward at this point.

I'd say it was a big gamble preseason. Now, you just aren't getting that good of a deal. At most saving yourself $100-$200, if not possibly overpaying. Just my two cents.
