"t's incorrect to say that the Louisiana Civil Code is, or stems from, the Napoleonic Code; rather, the two law codes stem from common sources."

More to the point, the Louisiana Criminal Code has nothing to do with the Louisiana Civil Code or the Napoleonic Code.
