Will LSU ever start the first drive of a game with a pass?

So far this season, we have started the opening drive of every game with the same play; dive off tackle right side. Is it just simply the safest way to shake off the butterflies?

No
We're going to run the ball early and often in the 1st half against Bama to see what kind of success we have.
If the beginning of games with Ware so far are any indicator we're going to have a TON of very short runs on 1st and 2nd down.
It takes LSU until about the 2nd quarter to finally get a push up front when running with Ware. It'll be even tougher against Alabama.

a playaction deep pass would be nice. Everybody in the world knows what to expect on the first play.

We did against NWST did we not?
I assume you mean our first offensive drive of the game?
12-Jarrett Lee pass complete to 2-Rueben Randle for 43 yards to the NWLA24, 1ST DOWN LS, out-of-bounds (1A-White, Bert).

Last time I say LSU start the game with a pass it was 2008 and georgia is still running the other way with that ball.

Might be a trick play waiting to happen. Going deep on the first play of the first drive. Seems like a Lesticles type of call.

The entire Alabama defense and everyone in the stands will have their eyes out for play action on the first play. It would be no big surprise.

Don't think so. LSU has played smart football the whole year. They will try to access the defense the first few plays. LSU playes a possession or two very conservatively and then opens up the pass game. IT makes sense we have such a huge turnover margin.

Sorry! As much as some of you people want LSU to be a passing team, it's not gonna happen. LSU is a run first team.

We will this game. Shep throws a TD pass to JJ streaking down the sidelines.

never, as long as you think it MIGHT happen.
