The play of the offensive line and full backs. I think we can lack in any other area and still win except.. Our Offensive Line. Lee doesn't have to be perfect. We can miss a FG. The secondary can give up a big play. Those things can happen and we can beat bama. But if the O-line doesn't show up (pass protection & run block) then it could be a long night. Might sound like Captain Obvious but this is what it boils down to IMHO.

This is true in every game. It starts with blocking. And tackling. If we can accomplish this, then it's all down hill.

Disagree. The linebacker play is more important

I disagree also, if Trent runs wild, MCCarron will be able to hit the few passes needed. If Trent is held in check, Mc will have a very tough time completing balls.

So you're saying that the play of our linebackers is more important than the O-line?!?? Lol you're joking right?

I think our DT's and LB's filling the holes and limiting TR is the most important. Secondly I think we need to stretch the field with passes down field to open up the run by keeping their LB's on their heels (obviously good OL play from us included in this). Thirdly, what you said.

Disagree.

We have to stop Bama's run game or we lose, irrespective of our how offense performs.

Agreed but this is what every game boils down to. Usually if you lose, your offensive line had a bad game.

We have to fill the gaps and not let TR have any easy/big runs.

Bottom line, if we force AJ McCarron to beat us with his arm, we win.

Same here LSU needs Dline to do all they can to slow down Bama's running game up front. Linebacker play worries me. Need them to step it up this game wrap up and make the tackle.

I think the O line will be ok.
I think we can contain TR.
I think our DB's can handle thier qb/receivers
I think our DL will create problems for them
I think our rushing game will be productive

The difference will be Wing pinning them deep
and our short to middle passing game, last but not least... Few penalties, few mistakes.

I know Trent is a breed all of his own at RB. But out of all the teams LSU has played, is there a team who had a RB remotely similar to him, size, can drag piles, yet still burn people? It seems like LSU has just played speed back from what i can remember. So i'd prob go with containing Trent. Their QB hasnt played in a game close to this magnitude, everyone on LSU should be more comfortable. So if they can stop Trent then live or die by the defense. with a mixture of how the special teams get great field position its just a matter of time til the offense gets theirs.

I disagree. I think the biggest factor will be Lee's ability to pass. I think Bama scores some points. Lee will have to have to loosen them up and stretch the field. Lee has a good game, we win.

No.

In fact LSU hasn't played a RB of his caliber in a long time. (Darren McFadden is the last I believe and he was a different type)

TR is pretty goddamn amazing.

DISAGREE....LSU will have to beat the Officials

All SEC officials come from Alabama..

Start a movement to move the SEC office every 4 years to another university. Employ officials from all SEC areas.........

We are going to play a lot of man to man D to stop the run. Our DBs will have prevent the Bama receivers from thowing them around. If our DBs can handle this, we win.

Yes, LSU must stop Bama's running game, even by stacking the box. Their running game must be made unreliable for converting 3rd and 3 into 1st downs. Now AJ McCarron must win the game for Bama. He is essentially a first year QB. He has never faced a tough defense in a desperate game where he has to be the difference. There is no Julio Jones for him now. LSU has an outstanding defensive secondary, some able even now to play in the NFL. If we can stop their run, then interceptions will start ocurring, and neither team can win despite turnovers.

The other help we need is from Wing. Other than what I've said above, the kicking game, punting, will be crucial. Alabama isn't so good at punting. Wing seems able not only to kick long, but also able to drop punts inside the 10 yard line. I've never seen any punter like him. It's like watching Jack Nicklaus or Luke Donald pull out a wedge and aim for the pin. Alabama, like LSU, won't be able to sustain 80 yard drives.

The game will come down to turnovers and field position.

Disagree. The key is tackling by the LSU linebackers and secondary. If we tackle Richardson and tackle their receivers well on the short pass plays, LSU will win.
