I have ever witnessed.
The 58, 59, 61, 62, 69, 03, 07 teams were all outstanding but this collection of athletes is incredible.

The only left for them to prove is that they can come back late with a game on the line but they haven't given been challenged late to have to do it. There's no reason to believe they wouldn't respond.

Simply amazing!

i haven't been following them quite that long, but i certainly agree!

(i believe that they are a more well-rounded team than either the 2004 or 2007 teams)

I am 63, and I have followed the Tigers since 1958. This is the best team I have seen since 1969 with Tommy Casanova. They are good by an unbeleivable margin. They are fast, they are deep in players, and all sides of the game are beyond anything I have seen. A small oultier of an example is the punting side of the game. I really don't think I have seen a bad punt this year. I can't believe this after watching Archer, Hallman, and Dinardo. But as for these three gentlemen, I wish them well, and I will say this. It was much easier to park when they coached.

I haven't been following them that long, but I say the 2003 was the best D, 2006-2007 was the best overall IMO. They were raped at AU and at UF that season - been written about many, many, many times (see Jacob Hester no catch, Jo Jo Lafell mauling in end zone at UF. See multiple AU cheating issues.. The raping at AU cost them their revenge against UF and they would have whipped that team, but this is a very good team.

I've thought for a while they were better than 03/07 but it's great to hear they may be the best ever.

The fact that those games were close enough for a bad referee's call to make a difference proves they weren't as good as this team. Furthermore, I doubt those team could have done what LSU did yesterday with three key players missing, including their best defensive player.

To compare this team to the 1958 team during a period of racial segregation is an insult to the current team. This team could put 50 on the 1958 team in one quarter without breaking so much as single droplet of sweat.

Another old fart checking in here - I just turned 70 and have been attending Tiger games since 1949. I have to agree I think this might be the best Tiger team I've witnessed.

I am speaking in relative terms. The 58 team was great for THAT era.

None of the teams from those long ago years could measure up to the speed, size, athleticism of the current age. We have running backs the size of 50's era linemen.

I'm 57. My take on this team is how they follow the same pattern each game. Wear out the opponent, make big plays on offense, cause key turnovers and don't beat themselves. They haven't had a "bad" game yet so this may be the most consistent LSU team I have seen in my 50 years of watching Tiger football.

For this team to match 2003 imo, it will have to win a championship.

There is still some ball left to be played. Many were saying the '03 OU team was the best of all time and they looked the part. And then there was the KSU game

Good point. It takes only one game for all the accolades to be wiped away.

This is the most talented team top to bottom I've seen in 45 years of watching Tiger football. Whether they are the best team remains to be seen. Bring on Bama.

I have followed the Tigers for nearly half a century. At the beginning of the season I did not see anyway that we could get this far without at least one loss. In my mind it defied reason. Well, the Tigers have not only done it they have waxed their opponents. This is the bet LSU football team that I have ever seen. They are THAT good.
