Per CFN.

quote:

One scout told me with a straight face that all 11 LSU defensive starters – at least when they’re all on the field – will be drafted.

I think this may be a stretch in the base D because of francois/hatcher. But let's say you look at it in 4-2-5, which we run almost if not as much or more. Let's keep in mind a lot of these guys are young so a lot could change with injuries etc. but here's how see it

DE- Montgomery-Yes
DT- Brocker- Yes
DT- B. Logan- TBD
DE- Adams- Yes (late rounder but i think he will)
LB- Baker- Yes
LB- Minter- Yes if he continues to develop
CB- Mo. Claiborne- 1st Rounder
NB- Mathieu- Yes
S- Taylor- Yes (if Curtis did he will)
S- Reid- Yes
CB-Simon- Yes

Even if the borderline guys don't thats still 8 or 9 of 11 guys that will be drafter. Unbelievable.

Thoughts?

I think this years team features 11 guys who will be drafted, but I don't think they are all starters.

Loston, Freak, and Mingo all look like NFLers to me.

I agree we could have many more guys that get significant playing that are drafted when you factor in Freak, Ego, Loston, and Mingo.

Mingo will be a heck of a LB for some team.

I just hope they all come back next year or at least the large majority. I don't like all this draft talk. It's all about the individual. It takes away from what LSU as a team can acomplish this year and next.

If frickin Al Woods can go in the 3rd after the lack of production in college he had, I can see anyone in our current dline rotation getting drafted.

I have said this since the day he commited but at this point I thinke there has to be a reason he isn't there when you consider our dept at DE and our lackthereof at LB. I know he wreaks havoc on passing downs but he could play MLB and still play end on passing downs. He must not have be able to drop in teh coverage or soemthign bc he certainly has teh speed.

how many 6'5" rail thin MLB do you see?

Most MLBs are thick and squatty with strong bases able to stop the run between tackles.

putting mingo there would be horribly stupid. First and foremost because of his body type. 2ndly, he is a great pass rusher and plays great in space.
