..do you think felon?
LINK

And we hung his name/number in the stadium for Christ's sake!I am sure some of you cheered when they hung his name. I know i did.

Point being, those acting as if LSU's image is tarnished forever might be overreacting just a little bit. Pump the breaks a little. Yes it sucks now, opposition will get its lulz, but I doubt it will be THAT big of a deal.

Give it up. Half of the clowns here don't see anything wrong in what the players did. Its just a big joke to them. And if you complain about them you're a hypocrite.

THUGI'll boo him every time I see him in Tiger Stadium! Hell I'll boo him if I see him in the streets. I'm a lizard LSU fan and I demand all players and alumni carry themselves to a standard akin to Jesus!

it is quite possible that he received money from felons while he was at LSU. his role in the counterfeiting thing may have been related to that debt. some obligations must be paid.

So pretty much LSU players should be allowed to do whatever they want at LSU drugs, fighting, ect and the fans are supose to be ok with it? sound like CLM is rubbing off on the fan base now, we need some disapline, not excuses " they are just kids, didnt you do drugs when you were young?" no i didnt and most responsible people didnt

Are our guys felons?

Are they even getting arrested for failing a drug test?

I'm not condoning what they did. It was against team rules and they knew that and went against it anyway. Everyone screws up, I'll reserve judgement for down the road. It isn't a pattern with these guys as of now.

They deserve a chance to learn from their mistake.

Well I always think of Billy Cannon, Jr., but that's just me

This too shall pass. It's hard to find 19 year old Alpha Males, who have no fear on Saturday's in college's grandest football stages, that also want to be choir boys.

If they are being prosecuted, let the law handle it. If they are being punished in house by Coach Miles, then let him handle it. And after they pay their punishment, they have a clean slate.

Exactly. It was a dumb mistake that is being amplified because of who they are. If this was a scout team guy, it'd be no big deal.

If it becomes a pattern, then I have a problem. I'm not going to hold the "other incident" against them.

Cannon was the best College football player ever played the game. Remember they played both sides of the ball back then. He was a safety at LSU. Give up the bull shite now, we all make mistakes JUDGE NOT !!!

And the other half act like they have never done a single thing wrong in their entire life. We have a fan base full of either hardened criminals or choir boys…..At least thats how people like to act on the interwebs.
A rational person should be able to see this for what it is...a mistake. It should not be condoned nor should it be blown completely out of proportion. Failing a drug test for synthetic weed is NOT something that people should beat their dogs over. The players should be punished accordingly for their mistake which they have. The fact that we as LSU fans are capable of turning this into an argument is retarded. The fact that some LSU fans enjoy throwing dirt on the players and want nothing more than to drag them through the mud is disgusting.

Please share with everyone exactly what they have gotten away with? I would imagine if you got into a bar fight, you would not have been prosecuted to the extent that these KIDS were.

Unfortunately, I do. I'm only 44 - the older generation probably remembers him with a little more fondness.

If Mathieu (particularly, as he has the most robust fan following and is my favorite player on the current team) stays out of trouble, continues to play well, regardless of whether or not (or how many) we win the next 6 or 7 football games - and goes on to do the things he is supposed to - I'll have signficant trouble remembering:

Rant Meltdown 2011 - Part II: Smoke on the Bayou

Just as the memory of the original: Rant Meltdown 2011 - The Beatdown at Shady's - is already starting to fade with the 7-0 start.

I think of the student section waving $20 bills at him when he was introduced before the Ole Miss game in 1988. He had been released from jail in 1986, but we all thought it was "too soon" to introduce him at a game...
