Anyone wonder why we don't run any power or counter plays from the Pro I?

This has been one of our best scoring offenses in years but I find it strange that we only run inside toss and iso plays from the I. We have a counter play for Shep from the spread formation but no pulling G or T.

its part of the secret playbook...that is all we will run from that formation against Bama, then Lee will run the option and rush for 99 yds and 2 touchdowns, JJ will throw for 250 yds and a touchdown and his one option run he'll actually hand off to Shep who will throw it to JJ for a touchdown catch!

We also won't play Hatcher/Francois/Hebert the entire game..we only play them now to show them on tape..Best of all Shep will return kicks/punts and Miles will wear a purple hat that fits!

we used to run more power from the I, hadn't really noticed that we don't anymore.

Seriously, I have to believe Miles respects $abun enough not to show him anything. He knows if he shows it $abun will have his team ready for it.
I really believe Miles has been practicing for bama a little very week since Oregon.

Misdirection is not in Miles' playbook. Over the last few years, I can count on 2 hands the number of counter action plays we have run.

Maybe he feels misdirection is not power football.

I hope we will use some down the stretch.

God I hope so. Only explanation for such a stale offense

I think ford would shine shine shine if you pull the left side. Right up,his alley.

So much frustration.

Hous, the counter and power are not consider misdirection plays IMO. They are as basic as your dive, iso, and sweep plays. One thing that is good about our extremely basic offense is that when you run a variation off of any plays, it could break wide open for us.

Ummm... how many years are we going to keep saying this? I think what we're seeing IS Miles football. He's got his normal preferences, which work decently with talent, and then the "completely catch them off guard plays" - like OBJ 3rd and 1 TD in the WVU game.

Shhhhhhhh....

Why run 500 plays when we can do what we have been doing with 50 plays.

That is sort of the point though. Given how basic our offense has been, it seems we have a lot of plays we can run that will "Completely catch them off guard" at least in the sense that they will have not seen the 2011 version of the Tigers run such plays all season.

I'm not a believer in the secret playbook. But I think Miles has a few wrinkles up his sleeve against Bama.

We don't b/c we'd much rather bring JJ in to run around like a deer in headlights instead of using our RBs to pound it.
