I can see why Mizzou would jump ship: UT and OU almost left them conference-less

...along with Baylor, the Kansas schools and Iowa State...

If not for UT's reluctance to budge on the LHN, Mizzou would be left scrambling. UT and OU did not give a rat's arse what happened to the remaining Big 12 schools.

So, why would you want to be involved with a conference that has teams that would have left you high and dry if they had the chance?

Missouri may not be southern enough for some of you but the state is as geographically "southeastern" as Kentucky. At least it borders current SEC states.

Let's make this happen already. If an ACC team was truly in play, we would have heard something about it by now.

Texas unwilling to deal beyond 6 years is another big key. If they were so committed to the conference, why wouldn't they agree to a 13 year deal?

Basically let Me put it this way. Texas and Oklahoma by their own words wants to "handcuff" us in the conference. They want to make a huge buyout that only the two of them could ever afford when they get a situation they like in another conference. Nobody thinks the Big 12 will last. People outside of this conference do not realize how terrible it has been for years now. A conference should be about a partnership and honestly everybody is tired of Big 12 shite. The Aggies were wise and got out to a conference of real brotherhood and we need to do the same.

As much as I hate him, Deloss Dodds is a fricking genius.

Our original agreement was that the LHN would carry one non-conference game per season. Them pushing for a 2nd game is one of the big reasons that we left (BTW, the 10/29 KU game is airing on the LHN as that 2nd game). Well, this new six year agreement allows them to show three games per year. All of a sudden, the LHN isn't looking like such a turd. There will still be nothing worth watching on that channel about 350 days per year, but those three games on the LHN will make Texas Exes ask their providers for it.

Disney is now in a position where they have six years to extort every cable and satellite provider to carry the LHN when their current agreements expire. Oh, and how long do you think it will take Bevo to start looking for loopholes in their "no high school football content" agreement? The other teams in the Big 12 will have signed their TV money over to the conference, so they will be powerless to do anything to stop them.

Texas is hoping that they have an established network in six years and will be in a better position for conference shopping than they were this summer.

Here are burnt orange corks (and wine bottles in place of Ks). This was all for Texas head baseball coach Augie Garrido's first trip to Olsen Field after his January 2009 DUI.

They are taking so long to make a decision about leaving a conference where they are treated like shite. It's like the woman from the trailer park who won't leave her cheating husband that gives her a black eye every month.

I can answer that. Because Gary Pinkel's contract expires in SIX YEARS and he will be reaching retirement age at the same time. Stay in the Big 12 and you are Texas' bitch for as long as they want you to be.

The funny part is, everyone in that conference KNOWS that they're Texas' bitch, yet they stay. TCU knows that they'll be another added bitch. Any school that doesn't have enough respect for themselves, I don't feel sorry for. I wouldn't be one bit surprised if TCU drops their home and home against LSU. Texas threatened Rice about playing LSU in Texas, they'll do the same to TCU.

Mr Chicken,

Missouri did in fact jump ship, but Bama and 3 others voted not to accept their application.

semantics.

the speculation is that Bama wants to keep UTk and Aubie, both.
I say, let them play them forever and ever amen,
if they are married to them. By and by the luster will fade from UTk when they drop down down down.
I think Missouri would be a great addition.

Doesn't it have something to do with when the Big 12 TV contract expires?
