Imagine Jarrett Lee with 5 years under Kragthorpe's Tutelege

Its amazing to see the improvement of this kid over one offseason. It is clear both he and Jefferson were deprived of far better college careers due to the sheer lack of coaching ability at the quarterback coach. Just terrible.
You have to believe Lee with 5 years in this offense with the coaching he's getting would have had a chance to put together a special LSU career.
I hope the best for him this year and beyond. He and Jefferson both were severely underdeveloped

I think senior qb's tend to play better than FR, Sophs and JR's in any offense. Having said that, they are doing great.

Haven't seen enough of Jefferson to tell yet. He has made some good decisions though.
Lee is leaps and bounds better. I thought McShay's breakdown on gameday was very thorough on his play recognition. Someone posted the Maryland QB's stats yesterday. Good ole Gary....

Lee would be in Heisman talk with 5 years of krags

The big difference with Lee is him not taking too many chances. I think I can remember twice all year that he has thrown the ball into double coverage. Regardless of his throwing motion, throwing off the back foot, and mobility, if he doesn't throw the ball into double coverage, he'll do just fine.
It'd be interesting to see his stats if you added in the balls dropped that hit WRs in both hands. Not the ones that guys have had to jump backwards and barely got a hand on. But, the obvious ones that hit both hands that should have been caught.
He has been fantastic so far.

Lee under Fisher or Krags for his time at LSU would of had a much different career. But if LSU does what we think they are capable of, his career will be special anyway.

the pass to wright in the end zone in the first quarter should have been caught. got both hands on teh ball and it was thrown perfectly. Our guys just do not make tough catches.

Imagine if he would've gotten the pt he deserved last year and the previous. JJ should have never been starting over this guy imo

I noticed this and the other thread blaming Crowton. Miles is still totally to blame for the QB mess. He could have hired a QB coach when he knew RP would be dismissed, or any year since.
But even with GC gone, and a QB coach in place, Lee was not going to start this year. It's just mind boggling. I give more of the credit to Lee than anyone in the change in our offense.

Don't worry I'm here
We all know that Jefferson could led this offense to the same amount of success or even more at this point. Unfortunately, there was a certain chain of events that prevented him from taking command of the offense. Jefferson is just biding his time until he takes the reins once again.

It would have been a diving finger tip grap, not exactly an easy throw to catch, it was close though

watch it again. two hands on the ball, not a fingertip catch. not easy, but not miraculous either. we so used to watching piss poor catching by our WRs we make excuses for every missed catch.

One of the biggest factors is our running game reverting back to a more traditional I-formation a la 2007. With Jefferson starting the last two years, we ran far too much read option and shotgun formations.
Basically, we finally found our identity on offense this year.

wasn't a perfect throw, should've led him more to the inside and made him flatten his route. would've been a much easier catch. it's ok though, shite happens. and we're getting much better throws on a consistent basis, so we should be cool.
