If you are looking for a classy place to eat with a spouse. . .

. . .Hit up Cafe Roma in Cleveland, TN.

It is ~50 minutes south of Knoxville down I-75. Great food and atmosphere. Right next to Lee University.

very good question...sounds like they are a little stricter than LSU, so I am even questioning whether I should do the zip loc thing or not....

you could feasibly walk from the Hilton but I wanna say there's shuttles. There's a Soccer Taco in market square downtown that's pretty good. There's a great steakhouse called Ye Olde down Chapman Highway about 10 min from downtown.

You're about 2 blocks away from market square. Tons of awesome restaurants and a great area for kids.

People that say no keg.... this just isn't true. It may be true for "on campus" but we have had a keg a # of times on the lots off cumberland.

Most on here other than G10 guy are not going to be parking on campus....

Also don't let UT fans tell you Calhouns isn't good. I love it. It is just the parking I don't like on that side. Smoked Prime rib is great. Also right on the river. But it is a longer walk than the "Strip" IMO....

Damn, I thought it was shorter. I don't want to walk off my buzz heading to the game.

What is the best Knoxville bar(s) for LSU folks Friday night age ranges 30-35? Looks like we're doing dinner Friday night at Copper Cellar.

Is the strip an option for before the game?

For sure. That is where we always go. Calhouns is good to but the only thing is you better be there early. It fills up fast and there are not really any other options on that side other than Ruth chris. But then the walk gets even longer.

There are alot of lots off the alleys behind Cumberland (the strip). We park at Walgreens ($40....some are cheaper but they have port-a-johns). We usually grill. But have eaten at the copper cellar a bunch to. It is right in beside Walgreens. They have good food and you can hang out and get your drink on to plus catch some of the early games. There are alot of other places.

I am not telling you exactly what to do. But like I said Calhouns is a good experience but you need to get there early especially if you want to eat. The Strip not so much. Alot more options. Plus like I said the walk is a little easier IMO....

I have access to a parking lot of probably 15 spaces we could lock that up and have an arse kicker of a tailgate 1 block off the strip and its level not one of the hilly lots.

How much does it cost to park there? And what time do you have to get there to get a spot there?

You can walk there, probably about as close as alot of hotels, but it's several blocks. If you're interested in someplace to go on Fri night go to Downtown Grill and Brewery...I like it alot better than Calhouns
