As much as we're all scared to get too excited about this Arrested Development revival, lest the rug get pulled out from under us, the chances for it to become a reality are looking better, as Hulu is now in a bidding war with Netflix to be the exclusive distributor for the one-off new season of the series. Vulture reported the story, revealing that Hulu has entered the fray after hearing the news (and all of the hoopla surrounding it) earlier this week about the show returning, and that Netflix and Showtime were both among those in talks with Arrested's co-producer, 20th Century Fox Television.
why aren't any cable channels trying to pick this up? nevertheless i'm glad to see that this latest news isn't the usual bs.

If it did end up going to Netflix, would that shut the haters up?

Why? Because the show failed once on tv.
This is another Jericho in the making. Plus, how is this show going to make ad revenue?

that's hulu's or netflix's problem. not the shows.

The thing I hated about when Arrested Development was on tv was that Fox totally fricked them in time slot. For a show trying to develop a fan base, that killed them from the start. They switched them to shittier and shittier time slots until it got cancelled. At one point I think they were going up against American Idol on Monday nights. It was originally on Sunday if I'm not mistaken. Oh, and the whole thing where they should the final four episodes all in a row was crappy as well.

Both shows were on FOX. Couldn't have been going up against each other.

I'm just guessing, but I'd think they probably aren't thrilled about a show that is guaranteed to be only one season. If it was coming back in more normal circumstances I'm sure it would have more interest regardless of the fact it failed before. That was hugely on Fox anyway.

as long as it's not on fox i'm good. bastards would find a way to cancel it mid way through.

because the TV audience is very different from the Netflix/Hulu/internet audience.
