how the hell do they figure our SOS is 54th?

And yet we keep getting their "primetime" slots.

It's probably some sort of bias free computer formula. It'll work itself out as it gets more data. This is why the BCS doesn't come out until week 8.
eta: yeah, the guy who does it is a basketball guy, so it's designed to need a lot of data points.

I would love to see the formulas he uses. How in the hell is LSU's SOS 54th while Michigan and Boise (who have not played any currently ranked teams) are 17th and 21st, respectively?

Jerry is Harry's retarded brother. Harry, who is smarter than Jerry, has LSU at #1, but he can't post due to visual impairment.

That is the worst top 25 I've ever seen. Not just LSU but all around. Michigan at 4? Texas at 5? And Wisconsin at 12?

Because they just average out the ranking of every team we've played. So playing #170 Northwestern kills our SOS regardless of the fact that it wouldn't have mattered if they were 40th or 170th.
They have Notre Dame has having the 4th hardest SOS. Notre Dame has two teams on their scheduled ranked in the top 25 (Stanford #7, Michigan #12).
LSU has six

We should have played ULL this year he has them ranked above Oregon.

Illinois SOS is 53. They have played:
Arkasas St.
South Dakota St.
Arizona St.
Western Michigan
Northwestern
Seems perfectly comparable to LSU's schedule. WTF???

He had to cringe when it put LSU and Wisconson so low.

Damn. I'm going to bet the house on #5 Texas getting 9.5 points against #7 OU on a neutral field.

I'm sure you're right but this approach results in me giving no credence to this sort of computer ranking (as if having Michigan in the top 5 isn't reason enough). The best computers do SOS based on a weighted average system so that playing the number #1 and #122 teams results in a better SOS than playing the #61 and #62 teams.
