So we show our hand for opposing teams to get game footage to prepare for us?

I've heard this argument and acknowlege that getting JJ some snaps against inferior competition may help get him back up to speed. He's well experienced as we saw and I would have rather Les say he's redshirting this year and then threw him into the Alabama game when we needed him. They may not have spent much time preparing for him and, like against Kentucky, he may have proved useful to keeping the chains moving. If CLM is the poker player that some say he is, not showing his hand until needed then this would have been more plausable to that theory. Another benefit would have been that he would not have been welcomed back to playing with boos in Bryant Denny Stadium verses Tiger Stadium.

Sooooo, you think the plays we ran using JJ against KY were new plays ? the only plays we can use him in ? what ?
There's miles of film with JJ running all of those plays from last year.
CLM showed he is back. In shape. Ready to play. Etc. Now, Florida has to account for him in practice this week.

Didn't read very well did you? Give the impression that we won't use him this year and then throw him in when we need him agaist Bama.

Why on earth would you want a good team that you have to beat (I am referring to Bama, not florida) to get to the NC game to prepare for your wrinkle? Doesn't make sense. Outside of Bama, I don't see another team having the horses in the stable to compete with LSU this year. If we beat Bama, we have a very legitimate shot at the NC. If we lose to Bama, nobody else is likely to beat them and we don't have a shot at the NC. To me, the Bama game is the NC game.

Is Ol Piss still running read? Gumps have them a couple games ahead of LSU and it wouldn't be that big of a deal.
Better to practice scheme with OL in game situations than unleash a big surprise that you can't execute, imo.
Besides, I doubt CLM would be quite so underhanded.

Soo, you want JJ's first live action to come against the Bama defense?
You may not like Miles' strategy but it's one virtually every coach subscribes to. You make your opponent spend practice time on everything in your repertoire, knowing you'll only use a small subset of it in the game.

any time they spend prepairing for JJ is time they are not spending prepairing for the normal offense we run.

So you think JJ has never played Bama before? He is inexperienced? You actually want Bama practicing against the option against us?

Good thing you aren't our head coach. You want to assume that we won't be challenged by anyone before Bama. That includes Florida, Tenn and Auburn. No coach in America would make that assumption. Then, you want JJ's first live action to be against the best defense in the country. Trust me, the coaches are much more interested in JJ getting back to the speed of the game than pulling some junior high surprise on Bama.

Watching LSU the past two years, I don't know what people are talking about. LSU isn't holding anything back.

The coaches will be done preparing for our "normal" offense by Tuesday.
The argument that some of you are using about playing JJ so other teams have to prepare for it is dumb. As the OP says, it would make much more sense to say we aren't going to play JJ this week and then trot him out there than it would to do the opposite.
I don't think this is the chess game that a lot of you think it is. Yea, there's some strategy involved, but it's really about making sure JJ is ready to play in case he's needed in certain situations to help us win the game. Miles obviously felt that he needed some live snaps on Saturday to get ready for the meat of our schedule. That's why he played, not because he wanted to make sure Muschamp, Dooley, Chizik, and Saban had something else to think about.

Nick saban sucks at poker too. He just showed richardson in the wildcat for the first time late in the Fl game.

We have to have the most idiotic fan base in the country.
Do people really want JJs first game action of the year to be in the defacto NC game vs Bama. Or are you just a typical LSU fan looking to bitch about something.
And even if he didn't play before Bama, do you REALLY think Saban, who knows JJ is reinstated, won't prepare for him?

There are a few trick plays every once in a while, but there are no significant scheme changes or package changes.

JJ will be playing consistantly after the Bama game. Not only for the Bama game. The reading comprehension and logic used by posters here is...

The way LSU has played without JJ, I would put this team against anyone in the country without him. The reason for this thread is the logic of showing our hand to allow other teams to prepare for us
