Because the refs weren't paying attention. It was an obvious late hit that they got away with.

They said one of the line judges might not have blown a whistle and/or Knighton didn't hear it.

Either way, I don't think it was intentional...think one of the above happened. Knighton isn't a dirty player and he didn't go in trying to nail Brees, he basically went mostly over top of him just to make sure he was down.

It's your QB so I get it, but I do think it was just a simple mistake. There wasn't anything malicious behind it.

i'm sorry but he knew exactly what he was doing. he took a cheap shot on brees. he saw an opportunity and he took advantage of it..

I dunno, if you watch that video Knighton throws his hands up like, "What did I do?" Then he doesn't get into the fray and start shite with anyone. I think he probably didn't hear the whistle and wasn't sure if Brees had been downed by contact. I could be wrong, but I think that's what happened.

Yeah I noticed that first time, but guys do that any ways. Again tho, I'm not mad about it. I just think he knew he had an opportunity to put some weight on Brees and he did. I'm not saying it was dirty, just a little cheap. There is a difference imo tho.

I watched it in slow mo several times now and he clearly has to see his teammates tacklin brees.. then brees goes down.. then he completely changes his route and throws his entire body on top of him. It was pretty unnecessary.

Unbelievable that there wasn't flag thrown for the late hit to Brees on that play.

He was supposed to get up and tell them he did it right? but seriously though, it was a flagrant late hit, which brings the total up to 3 significant no-calls in the last 3 games on Brees.

If that had happened in the Dome, the Jags wouldn't have made it out of the stadium...

They ALL throw up their hands trying to minimize the foul. It's in all sports, and it's bullshite.
