re: 343 yards in 2010, 349 in 2011

This team is better defensively this year than last. That's pretty obvious and you don't even need stats to tell the story.
Oregon, Kentucky and Mississippi State racked up probably 300 yards of garbage offense alone, when the game was completely out of hand.
West Virginia did to an extent as well.
And I'd nearly guarantee that if you broke out average starting position for the offense from the first 5 games, this year's team would have a strong, strong advantage.

You still choose to ignore that the offense has not shot itself in the foot.
13 TOs versus 3 through 5 games. That's not looking at JJ's fumbles that he or teammates recovered (3 alone in the Vandy game).
We also gave up 7 sacks through 5 games last season and only 3 so far this year.
This offense is all around better, and it is for numerous reasons including simplified playcalling, better QB play, better management, etc.

Because they are ignoramuses.

I'm baffled how anyone managed to give a serious response to the OP.

Yet, you keep harping on the whole season total then comparing the partial season.
No I didnt except in the first case, where I explained given the schedule being tougher this year the stats would be similar as compared to the entire season.
The drives over 50 yards, were from the first 5 of each season. I been went so far as to check the ULM game as to have an equal to NSU.
Turns out couldn't drive it against ULM either!

I didn't ignore it.
I said the same thing could be said about the 2008 to 2009 teams, except reverse the QBs.

I haven't disagreed with this, really. The offense is better. Just not substantially so.

We get it. You don't like Lee and you like Jefferson. You just put more effort into denying and trying to disguise it than some others.
And yes, I have an agenda. To spend early January in New Orleans...why don't you honestly tell us yours?

Why stop there? When you are comparing turnovers from 2008 to 2009, be sure and pull the scoring offense and total offense stats too.
You are so disingenuous it's embarrassing. You and Just Me-champion cherry pickers!

But reduced turnovers do make this offense significantly better. That is the point.

Not really.
I can objectively criticize a player and like him. You obviously, cannot.

I've said it at least 15 times already.
I'm sorry that I criticize Lee and you don't like it.

I love how you hit and run constantly.
You got shamed 3 pages ago, ran away and are now back for more.
Your schtick is pathetic, and laughable. You have no arguments other than "Hey you hate Lee! Haha. [insert stupid image]."
The problem is you are transferring your own emotions feelings onto others. It upsets you that not everyone is as infatuated with Jarrett Lee as you are, so even the slightest criticisms of his play brings out the same old bullshite from you, "JJ lover!" "Lee hater! Nanaana"
You are like a child. I get it that you love Lee. I get it that you don't like JJ. I don't really value your opinion on the matter, because it's not grounded in reason or fact.
So, as I've said at least 300 different times to you, Roger, Doc and others, I WANT JARRETT LEE TO SUCCEED. I want Jarrett Lee to go 30/30 for 400 yards and 5 TDs every single time he steps onto the field. Nothing would make me absolutely happier than if Jarrett Lee absolutely destroyed every single opponent on the field and turned LSU into a force not seen in CFB elsewhere.
That doesn't mean I can't rationally look at him as a football player and point out his flaws.
I don't pick players I want to succeed one over the other. I root for my team to succeed. The fact that you refuse to acknowledge that I've said this repeatedly and continue to erroneously label me a "Lee hater" and a "guy with an agenda" really says more about you than anything else.

(sigh)
Since you obviously want to ignore facts that don't support your wish, and I'm too lazy to see if any of your ten of thousands of posts offered your "expert" breakdown of any of JJ's horrific games from 2009 and 2010, let me just expose your last post where you wanted to compare turnovers in 2008 and 2009. Let's be fair:
2008 Scoring Offense=#30, Total Offense=#51
2009 Scoring Offense=#76, Total Offense=#102
See how easy it is? So, since you have so much time on your hands, explain what these stats show? Both full years of basically a single QB, in their first year in the system (even spotting JJ an entire bowl prep and offseason practicing as #1 instead of being shoved into the role in the middle of a game in the middle of the season)

Ok, you win. You're a genius. Congrats.
I'm done with you.
eta: I hope you take this as smart arse as I mean it. But knowing you, you'll turn it into another example of how I hate Jarrett Lee.

I wasn't one of those crying over certain stats last season and I'm not making a big deal over stats this season either, but I do find it amusing that passing offense and total offense were used as some kinda begin all and end all last season by some and never mentioned by them this season.
As I said, go figure........

Check my last post in this thread. Even taking last year's 5 highest scoring games' ppg average, we are still better in scoring offense this year.

The day a dolt like you shames me will be a cold day in Tuscaloosa. Unlike you, with your tens of thousands of posts, I actually have other things to do.
quote:
I get it that you love Lee
Nope. I love winning. I personally wish we had prepped Mett for starting this season, and still think he is the best QB of the three.
quote:
I get it that you don't like JJ
I have said repeatedly. I have never met him, so have no personal like or dislike. I dislike the way he plays QB and conducts himself in that position.
quote:
So, as I've said at least 300 different times to you, Roger, Doc and others, I WANT JARRETT LEE TO SUCCEED
Then why do you insist on spending so much time tearing down his performances, all the while anointing yourself as the QB-critique extraordinaire on here Why don't you just STFU and enjoy the fact that until this week, our offense actually looked like it had an identity and some continuity? That is what I am cheering for.
Several other people pointed out that you showed your arse with that pass by pass "breakdown" you generously offered after we blew the Ducks out of Jerry's World. Don't come in here and act like your gazillion posts make you a God, or expect me to worship you because you post more. Don't work that way buddy.

Lee was terrible in the 2nd half of this particular season. Some of his stats in some of the games were inflated because games (such as UF and UGA) were already decided. You just can't go by what the scoring offense and total offense was. Playcalling that year was terrible as well.

Uhhhh what?
5 highest scoring games last year:
ULM - 51
Ole Miss - 43
A&M - 41
Florida - 33
McNeese - 32
= 200 points or 40 ppg
This year 190 points or 38 ppg
