I also heard they were going to franchise. One in BR by ACME, then the next one was going to be in Houston.
the initial rumor was the corner of acadian and perkins .. but that proved wrong as a bank is going in that spot ..

I believe they were talking about the development going in behind it where they knocked down the old Wal Mart. The Commercial Properties gig but I haven't heard anything about them going ahead with that development in quite sometime. I'm sure Acme is waiting around as well.

There is still potentially a large development behind the bank. But how long from now is that going to take?

You have some memory...Lafitte's burned to the ground. Business was good, I worked for him at the time. You might be thinking of Bitter Sweet. But he is actually headed to NO inside of The Sonnesta.
I am talking about Bittersweet. He said in the paper that he was moving to BR, about 8 years ago.

Sad loss - but no, I don't expect them back. Several good places closed this year, most recently Brandt's Maisonette, but we still have some fantastic locally-owned places, like Maison Lacour and Beausoleil.
The loss of G's Bistro will simply make me head to the 200 block of Bourbon more often.

Is this the one where he is partnering with some out of town famous chef? Any more news on the place?
Yes, it's coming along. A chef from Chicago, his name escapes me.

A conversation I had while back pretty much confirmed we won't be seeing Galatoire's back in BR. Sucks, it was a great option to have.
