We aren't going to beat a team like Alabama running the ball 35 times between the tackles. It'll be good to have a variety of looks to throw at them.

JJ ISN'T TAKING OVER AS STARTER. HE ISN'T GOING TO GET 50% OF THE SNAPS.

Good luck getting a logical explanation.

Any play he is in for takes plays away from what is currently a productive offense.

Because being able to do more things on offense sucks!

We have people much more capable of running the wildcat.

Ware with Ford in the backfield
Shep with Ware or Ford in the backfield

I think those are both way better options than JJ.

The only thing that JJ would bring to the table is it wouldn't be a dead giveaway until about the 3rd time.

We aren't going to beat them throwing behind receivers either.

There aren't any.

JJ should get some wildcat snaps in the red zone. Eventually.

He shouldn't play for 2-3 weeks. He hasn't practiced in over a month.

ETA: I'm talking like 3 or 4 snaps a game. And it won't matter if they know it's coming. A Jefferson combo with Ware/Shepard in the backfield would be pretty hard to defend. And Jefferson always falls forward on his runs.

The potential negatives?

(1) Disrupts the flow of the offense;

(2) Telegraphs the type of play we will run;

(3) Displaces other more creative and effective plays;

(4) Confusion and penalties resulting from abrupt changes in personnel and formation;

(5) Potential turnovers on those occasions when Jefferson attempts to throw.

I'm sure I could list far more.

thats 5-6 snaps taken away from 3-4 players that are better suited with the football in their hands.

Don't bring any sanity here tonight.

The reason is because lee might get his feelings hurt if Jefferson gets snaps.

Did I do the conspiracy chicken little fan scenario right?

How about by throwing catchable balls off playaction? Can we beat them then?

Why is it even needed at this point. The offense, including production, confidence and chemistry is way ahead of where we were when JJ was involved. Until that changes I dee no reason to upset the apple cart. At this point I'm willing to let it ride with Lee

Nothing wrong with it, but i'd rather Ware or Shep run the wildcat than JJ. He has mediocre speed and a mediocre arm

it's not needed

it might make the offense better, but it's not like we're adding robert griffin or cam newton to the offense here

seems it may do as much harm as good, IMO

He's about the 34th best running back on our team. You could pick any RB, WR, DB, and maybe some other positions and they are all better athletes than JJ. He brings nothing to the table that someone else can't do better.

I'm guessing shep and ware aren't capable of helping run the 'wildcat''?!?!?

why do we even need the 'wildcat'? we've done well without it up to this point.

When the offense has the ball this year so far I have a confidence that they can score everytime we have the ball.....the last two season it was the complete opposite where u just hope they can do something and when we hit a pass play for 20+ yards its like holy shite.....now its become more normal to see. The offense has consistency and identity so why frick with it..

It takes the ball out of lee's hands and takes Carries from ware and ford.

I think JJ in the game = Run play. Pretty easy to defend when you know it's coming
