I am sorry that there are people that ruin it for everyone. I was at the game on Saturday, I feel very sorry for what happened to the family that got hurt. We are not all bad people that are Fans here at WVU. I want to thank you for coming to our State and hope that you all have a great season.

I have a couple WVU-grad friends; they're all great peeps. Besides, unfortunately, every school has some sociopathic fans. Except LSU.

I think another problem (and I know this is slightly off topic) is that WVU really may not be able to come to BR again, and vice versa. This could be a hell of a rivalry type of game with such passionate fan bases. As I see it, a couple of drunkard LSU fans could pick out an unsuspecting group/family from WVU if y'all come back to BR just to "get them back" or something. There are those LSU fans that are NOT above this. Bottom line, the universities may not allow another regular season game to be played btw these teams
I feel bad that this event has made WVU look very bad and may have already ruined what could have been a good matchup for years to come.

Really is their no self-policing in Morgantown? I know LSU has their share of trashy subway alumni, but if a visiting family w/ a pregnant wife were being beaten in Baton Rouge I find it hard to believe an LSU fan wouldnt intervene.

WVU gets big props from most fans who were there.
It just seems your "hard core 1%" might be a little harder core and more like 5%.

My next door neighbor is a WVU grad. He's a really good guy - 55 year old engineer. Not someone brash. He was at the game. He said there were plenty of knuckleheads on both sides.

Thanks for your post. I was at the game and encountered many very nice and welcoming WVU fans. Unfortunately there are a few idiots in every fan base and the drunk students at every university that do stupid things and draw negative attention to a program. We have had many such incidents with fans at LSU acting like idiots and bringing embarrassment on our program as well. I go to enjoy the football games but unfortunately many "fans" simply see it as another opportunity to get drunk and act stupid.
