The way I see it, with A&M already in the SEC, if OU and maybe Texas Tech went to the SEC, you have their three biggest rivals in the SEC.

The states of Texas and Oklahoma become 100% SEC territory, and an SEC cable network would absolutely bring in the bank.

Texas would be left insecure on an island...

I concur, but I think it would be OU and OSU coming in. They are joined at the hip and for all of T. Boone's drunken ravings, he (and OSU) will go with big brother.

i think if dan beebe somehow didnt resign, they OU, OSU, and Mizzou would get SEC invites and they would jump on them in a heartbeat.

then Texas would be left holding the bag with TT and Baylor

Losing Oklahoma alone would be a nightmare. They would be forced to basically recreate the SWC, or go it alone.

texas would probably have to beg the big ten for acceptance.

This I think is the nightmare.
A channel dedicated to the SEC like the BTN in all the homes throughout Texas is a big deal. That means the state of Texas will start making the transition from a big12 state, to an SEC one.

I think having to keep OSU would be worse than losing them, so the worst thing would be losing OU and keeping OSU and TT.

The nightmare scenario for Texas is Ken Starr being named new Big XII Commish...

Just kidding. Having OU and A&M in the SEC without them would be a huge chink in their armour. TV money and football recruiting may make this a reality. Plus the upcoming fight between OU and UT for control of the Big XII.

Now that OU has less leverage without the PAC-12, I think UT will act like they will play ball and then not give up much in negotiations. That could send OU packing.

Losing OU would be the nail in the coffin.

A&M/OU/OSU to SEC, Big10 rejects Texas like the Pac12 did, and Texas becomes Independent.

This would be the absolute worst case scenario for Texas.

Just from checking out shaggybevo, there is no downside possible. Any situation TU is in will be because they chose to be in it. If they have to play Rice 12 games in a row, it will have been the best outcome.

They have the money. They have the power. Long live TU!

So...... speaking of scenarios, LSU's conference DIVISION slate would be:

OU
OSU
Mizzou
Hogs
TAMU
Ole Piss
MSU

I would really miss having Bama and Auburn every year, but holy crap! An annual game in Jerry World against OU?

I agree. How OU handles itself over the next week or two will be very interesting to watch. Perhaps they'll leak a rumor of OU to the SEC to gain some of that leverage back.

Well ESPN is reporting on radio that Dodds said any conference they remain in will have to accept the LHN. That might play in Ames, Lubbock, Manhattan, and Waco.

But I think they are going to arrogant OU out the door...

It would bring on an epic UT meltdown but I don't know if it will happen. OU fans hate LSU so much I think their fan base would riot
