Actually, I'd rather a leader not be there in the first place, and strongly discourage his team to do the same.
Leadership is about leading. By breaking curfew (regardless of the "tradition"), he lead the team to Shady's. That's leading in the wrong direction.

Then why is he being charged and appearing before a GJ? Are you going to testify for him?
You act like no one in the history of the US justice system has been falsely charged for a incident.
You are putting words in your mouth. Another issue. Answer my questions. Do you think he is innocence or do you know he is?

so you're completely throwing out the idea that Jefferson did nothing wrong because you're trying to compare the situation to the OJ case.
you've lost all credibility in this thread.

I don't believe it ruined his entire life. He still has a scholarship to get his education which is what he should be in school for. He did lose his priveledge not RIGHT to play football for LSU. In which he will get back if innocent in which I hope happens and believe eventually will.
Now where he will stand with his team is another issue
I'm guessing I should have been more clear with this statement. "it about ruined his entire life" means that it almost ruined it and I meant his football life. Sorry :(
Because of my love of football, with a DD20 (almost the same age as JJ), I really feel for him right now. JL has always been on my radar as a favorite even when he wasn't playing so well, but to see JJ's senior year snuffed away like this is heartbreak and incredulous....

Some people who are tried for a crime are guilty.
Some people who are tried for a crime are innocent.
You do understand that, don't you?

Given the facts of this case and the chance of winning, Hillar has a choice. He can nolle pros it, or he can let the grand jury decide if there is a case.
Hillar is going to present both sides to the grand jury. That is the wise, ethical, and honest thing to do
Do you think he would present this evidence to a grand jury if it wasn't JJ involved? I would think he would have kicked it back to BRPD saying he doesn't have enough evidence in normal circumstances but I don't know how much evidence he has either.

I'm definitely not putting words in your mouth and yes, I believe his innocent because this entire situation is full of mixed & drunken witnesses statements. You've got a kid like Lowery who has been a problem child since he was in high school and you've got witness statements that simply do not make any sense what so forever.
Furthermore, this entire situation should have never reached this level in the justice system and the only reason it was blown out of control was because Jefferson is the starting QB of a top 5 program and because the first thing many people in the local and national media heard was that "JJ the starting QB of the LSU program, kicked a marine in the head while he was laying on the ground"

What is really funny is everyone using "ethical" in the same paragraph as Lawyers.

Oh..yea..the police arrested JJ because one person out of 25 said JJ kicked the guy....get a life..
Oh..by the way...I do not see in your thread saying JJ/Josh are innocent..Hmmmmmm..Ah...Josh..did it..Oh..I get it..

You're forgetting the fact that if JJ didn't kick this kid in the head that someone who is playing football as we speak did commit this crime.
Umm did you read the Motion to Dismiss? No LSU players were involved and none of them know who the kicker is.

Hillar just doesn't want to deal with this is the reason for pushing to GJ, imo.

Actually they already said they used Lowery, the 2 other "victims" and his old lady's statements to issue the arrest warrant.

Well, it sucks for Johns also but he's not a starting QB so he will never be in the same limelight that Jefferson is in. Deal with it.

You really need to learn how to read police reports and get your facts straight. Many of the wittness statements mixed with one another and only a few matched. You had multiple people defending Lowery and multiple people saying Jefferson/JOHNS had very little to do with the situation at shady's that night.
quote:You've really sunk to a new low trying to say that I believe that Jefferson is innocent and that I completely left Johns out of the situation. I personally find it hilarious and pathetic that you in your previous post tried to compare the Jefferson case to the OJ case. Only a complete moron would try to link the two together.

I can't say whether this is accurate or not, but you seem pretty confident.
How do you have knowledge of what happened?
Forget about this one just me?

[quote]The witnesses who will testify against the JJ's are extremely credible. I'm familiar with the interviews and they've convinced the DA's beyond a reasonable doubt.
Jefferson's story has changed several times, and he is very incredible. And if you believe anything Unglesby says, you should think again.
That said, the DA's don't believe 2nd degree is the way to go. There's no evidence JJ was involved in the anything other than the kicking of Lowery, who didn't have bad injuries (a microfracture to face). Hard to see "intent to inflict serious bodily injury" there.
The GJ will return simple battery. JJ will plead and get PTI, have it wiped from his record, and never play football at LSU again.

I stopped right there.

I forgot to add, that the whole "kicking a dude in the head" issue could be completely false.
Also, did anyone hear about Lowery being drunk on Airline recently and getting hit? This kid sounds like a model citizen...
