How can Big 12 3.0 be a serious option? Should Big 12 kick Texas out?

There is so much hate and mistrust among the remaining schools I don't see how any school would join the conference. How can this possibly be an option?
I know Texas is the money school but what if the Big 12 kicked Texas out with OU being the Flagship school? Would A&M go back then?

Can you imagine the stipulations Baylor is going to place on these teams for exit conditions?

There's no other option as long as LHN is in its current form and nobody wants OU on their own

It's serious b/c the remaining teams don't give a shite. If OU gets what they want, then it will be the sooner/whorn conference with the other schools happily being their lap dogs. That's all Baylor ever wanted. To be ensured they could still be the faithful lap dog that gets the occasional treat thrown his way.

If the Big12 was serious, they would get Texas to compromise on the revenue sharing AND add three teams to make it 12, assuming TAMU goes to the SEC and Mizzou stays. Why not add BYU, Boise St, and TCU? Make it a legitimate 12 team conference. Move to east-west divsions to balance out with ou and ut in opposite divsions. The problem is Texas. They cant get along with the Big12 or the Pac12. Theyact like Notre Dame and maybe should be independent.

There is a big misconception out there that people don't understand under this conference realignment issue... Aggies don't have a historic rivalry with OU, OSU, Nebraska (although they were my favorite team to play in the big 12 and the only reason keeping us there), CU, ISU, KU or KSU. Hell, we've played Arkansas almost more times than we have played Texas Tech - and we stopped playing them in 1990(?) before we got the band back together a couple of years ago. We couldn't give a ____ about "rivalries" with the Oklahoma schools; we don't have them, they don't exist. The only benefit of them being in the big 12 has helped Texas, who already had a rivalry with Oklahoma, and it has hurt A&M. As Aggies we want to play LSU & Arkansas over them. We've played LSU almost as many times as both Okie schools put together.

Why do people keep saying this? This wasn't a Texas decision. EVERYONE in the Big 12 voted for this method of rev sharing. In many years, OU made more TV revenue than Texas. If the conference were to go to equal revenue sharing, the pissed of people (OU and A&M) would make LESS money.

you really need to quit with this pathetic answer for everything - it no longer holds any water with the argument
it's not working and nobody is buying it. The fact is - TODAY, right here, right now - unequal revenue sharing is unacceptable to A&M & OU. Deal with the fact that your pompous university and your pompous athletic department have alienated themselves from any and all that stand to make your program relevant. Here you are as a university and an athletic program - either change your ways or deal with the outcome. You have dug this hole, now go have a party in it.

UT has shown ZERO leadership in the Big 12 as the top revenue producing school. Texas and Texas alone is responsible for the implosion of what I always thought would challenge the SEC for best College Football Conference. They have it all with recruiting, facilities, money and being in the South and they screwed it all up.

Are these the same Big 12 members that are all trying to or have bailed?

You do realize that the only rights that are not equally shared now are the 1st tier and 3rd rights? They already changed the 2nd tier rights when they came up with the new TV deal.
Second you do realize that the third tier rights revenue will never be shared due to what Kansas makes compared to everyone not named UT? They will pitch a fit due to the fact that that is approximately 1/7th of their entire AD budget.
Third, the unequal revenue sharing you keep harping about has a much smaller variance than you keep implying. Changing the revenue model does not matter when the problem has never been the revenue distribution model to begin with. The problem is and most likely will continue to be that most of the population or footprint is isolated to one state and because of that the balance of power on and of the field is shifted to the south.
If you want to fix the big 12, don't worry about the revenue model and instead find enough teams that can be put in the north that can have a stand alone AD with sufficient financial backing to be considered top tier in facilities and put a strong product on the field.
If the south can't sit there and claim they are the conference and everyone has to do what they say or they leave, you won't have those problems. The problem is that to do that you more than likely need to do some radical realignment within the conference (starting with separating OU and UT with a guaranteed cross division game) and the addition of some strong willed and financially strong programs.

The problem is that Texas wants to be independent and that's really the avenue they need to pursue like Notre Dame and you can find another place for your other sports and be just fine. If Texas went independent they could show all their home games on the highest bidding channel and keep their Longhorn Network.
