I like how the first sentence says possibly heading to the PAC 12.

A source tells Hookem.com the details of Texas possibly heading to the Pac-12.

I would call this ridiculous hype.

One of the comments on their board:

quote:

Sounds like there are four pods. Heartland Mountain California Northwest

My guess is T, TT, OU, OSU in "heartland"
Utah, Col, Arizona, ASU in mountain
USC, ucla, Stan, cal in california
Wash, wazzu, Oreg, oreg st in northwest

What happens to Texas's butt boy Baylor in all of this? They've made mischief on the 'horns behalf for weeks now. Will they just be fricked now?

Nice. Bring UT and OU to help this conference improve. The pac 12 is horrendous this year

I'm really excited about SC potentially getting to play OU and UT on a regular basis, but It's just hard for me to imagine a Pac-16 being a viable long-term option. The divides, both geographically and between the haves and have nots are simply enormous

Here's the reported compromise on LHN

quote:

Texas would have to add Pac-12 (soon to be 16) content to the LHN programming. The Longhorns would be able to keep all of their revenue from the network. However, if one-sixteenth of the money the Pac-12 receives from third-tier rights ends up being a larger amount, the schools would divide the revenue evenly and everybody would receive the same amount, the source said.

If their is any substance to this, will it affect OUs decision?

I think it would encourage OU to do the same, if anything. Having multiple conference schools in close proximity to your's is a good thing.

the lead writer for UT's 247 site tweeted that there would be 4 team pods with a 3-2-2-2 conference schedule. OU, OSU, UT, and TT would be one of those pods.
