I think its a good move for the ACC. Adds two great basketball programs to their league and there's potential for the football teams to have success.

I think it would be a good idea, add two good basketball schools and they are good here and there in football. Adding the Orange will make a killer lacrosse conference.

Also, gets them more in the north. Right now the ACC just has BC up there all themselves they probably want more schools up there.

It would be a good move. Shows they are expanding, probably secures their teams from leaving a bit more. Basketball gets richer, opens up some markets...Big East will be screwed. I would think this will open up West Virginia to SEC more too.

I'm mainly just poking fun at them for the move to become a power football conference after their first expansion

While both are pretty weak in the football aspects...it seems most of this expansion is about Tv markets and deals.

This puts the ACC in 2 of the biggest markets out there! New York and Pittsburgh. And no i am not saying they are all fans...it is simply the market!

My guess is that WVU will be knocking in the SEC door now, and because of the new $13 million buyout just unanimously approved by the ACC presidents, including FSU's, there will be no departures from the ACC.

They stretch all the way from Florida to NY now. That is a lot of territory and TV markets.

I think it's a good move for them. The Big East still has UConn, Georgetown, Marquette, Louisville, Villanova, St. John's, etc. That's a pretty solid basketball list still, so I'm sure they'll try to keep it together for that reason. However, I doubt they keep their BCS tie-in for football.

I think this really opens the door for West Virginia to the SEC. Florida State and Virginia Tech are going probably going to stay in the ACC now that they have expanded.

ACC needs to go ahead and end the Big East by adding UConn and Rutgers, or maybe Louisville.

The Big East buyout is only $5 million, but teams are required to give 27 months notice. I'm curious how that plays into any of this.
