3. Natural rival for Kentucky (states border each other and makes for good basketball matchup)
4. Eastern team to balance divisions with A&M's entry into the Western Division

Just seems like we're settling for WVU.
Geographically speaking, they're not in the southeast. They're not a great academic institution. I don't see them pulling in new TV markets. Their only selling point is above average athletics and a rabid fan base.

Appalachia's not the southeast? WVU is south of the MAson-Dixon Line, unless the state has moved.

But that had more to do with the people of the mountains hating those on the Tidewater. The plantation owners had frozen the mountains out of the House of Burgesses.

This is probably a safe statement. It looks like the ACC is going to 14 maybe 16. No one is going to leave the ACC...so people can want FSU all they want, they are staying in the ACC.
WVU and Mizzu may very well end up in the SEC. The SEC now needs 1 or 3 more teams to keep pace with what is happening with the other Conf. So, expect the SEC to make a move in the next week or so to strengthen it's position.
