might have to go indy for a while to resolve litigation issues

Bowtie and Slive on the 2 yd line and will get across the line no matter what

I'm hearing that A&M is making contingency plans to go indy if legal issue not resolved. Ags won't return to B12 under any circumstance.

Me thinks that A&M will have no issues finding teams to schedule as a short-term independent...I can think of 12 teams of the top of my head.

A&M would easily be able to schedule teams for a few years(1-3) as an independent. The problem comes after that.

then they'd have enough separation from the big 12 carcass to join the SEC, and Baylor couldn't do anything about it.

Baylor's threat holds no water. The SEC is just playing along right now and will eventually tell Baylor to stick it where the sun don't shine. And Baylor will, Kenneth Starr the weasel and all.

That would be funny. One giant to Baylor et al from TAMU and the SEC.

The problem I see with that is all the non revenue sports. They would be totally fscked that year unless we are out of Big XII for the big 3(or 4 in our case) and put the olympic ones in some conference.

I think the SEC could help in scheduling all sports.

What exactly is Baylor's claim against the SEC? I have been confused about this.

It's not so much a claim by Baylor against the SEC as it is that TAMU's admission is conditional that the remaining BIG12 schools waive any right to a lawsuit. Baylor won't do that, currently.

What can Baylor legitimately sue over? The SEC didn't do anything. They have offered a team who has ended its current agreement admission into the SEC.

They don't really have a claim. It's a stall tactic to gain more time to explore their options.. If Stoops and OU hadn't opened their mouths none of this would have happened. TAMU leaving is not the issue, but if OU bolts Baylor is without a conference. All threatening legal action does is slow down the departure of OU.

I would support A&M in whatever they do.

The SWC held them hostage and now the Big XII is doing the same. It's high past time for A&M to give them the finger and go independent if that's what it takes. You do not want to stay in a conference with backstabbing hostage takers.

The ATM thing is hilarious. ATM is basically pouting and acting in their own “self-interest” after the UT TV deal. What is ironic is that they are complaining about these other schools doing the EXACT same thing that they did. It is a fact that no one cares about KSU and Baylor football. However, ATM can’t sit there and blame them for doing the same thing. It’s all about pecking order. On their best day, ATM is not as good as UT. If they were, they would simply create their own TV network as well. There isn’t the demand and they know it. So the big boys are fine (TX & OU) via a variety of options. ATM is trying to secure their future (can’t blame them).

They belong in one of the lesser conferences.

18 conference wins over 15 seasons. 11 last place finishes.

Every school in the Big 12 North has won the division or tied for first place in the division at one time or another. The only school in the South to never have finished 1st in the division or tied for 1st (Ole Miss co-champs style) is Baylor. Baylor finished 4th in the South last year, their best finish ever.

Baylor is a gigantic joke, notwithstanding their recent "success" with wins over Texas and TCU.
