Oh great. Now I'll have to order the damn network so I can watch UT-Arlington basketball games.

Oh wait. I have Time Warner Cable.

As long as this thing is called the LONGHORN NETWORK, it will continue to fail. This thing has played a big reason in the whole conference shakeup. You can bet the service providers are a bit skeptical to sign on when there is a distinct possibility that UT may not have a conference to play in.

If you want to save your precious channel as a revenue stream, you need to re-brand and loosen your stranglehold on it.

UT is being ran by DUMBSHITS!!!

The success or failure of TLN is all on ESPN at this point. If they want it to be picked up and are serious about it, they put it in their next negotiations for ESPN, ESPN 2, etc. Nobody would stand for their cable provider not carrying ESPN so the cable providers would cave to demands. Just depends how badly ESPN wants it to succeed, there are benefits to partnering with the most powerful sports network.

Texas gets paid whether the network succeeds or fails. They get paid more if it succeeds, but the $300 million is going to come in regardless.

Yeah cause there are SO many universities who would have said no thanks to ESPN offering $300 Million.

Keep swinging slugger, you'll eventually hit on something meaningful.

Good news - happy for UTSA - I pull for start -up programs. May even help their recruiting in the TX wastelands that have the LHN. To date, NO large metro areas have a provider. Sorry for TxSt, but reality is they should have stayed I-AA.
IMO - ESPN was depending more on TX high school football then UT swimming. Hence the addition of UTSA to the programming. I'm a Tiger native stuck in TX for 20 years, so please believe when I say, football drives the boat! Two+ HS games on Thur/Fr/Sat would have Texans screaming for the LHN.

The geniuses at ESPN overlooked the recruiting objection & it's biting them you know where. I doubt UT had a clue what the programming plan was when they took the $ on the table!

A bit ironic - UT, the czar of the big 12(10-1), that has enjoyed having the conference moving on Bevo's tail for so long is now nothing more then an ESPN puppet!
