Maybe you can chalk it up to an old man's Budweiser, but what if ........
FlSt beats OK - normal season upsets occur
LSU BAMA ends in a 3 point winner
Yields an undefeated SEC champ & an 11-1 loser
Does the BCS have what it takes to rematch the obvious two best teams in college football?

Replay of LSU-ND ball for the Crystal Ball!

I know, it's probably a senile moment, but at least I can still dream ....... and drink

Michigan/Ohio State leads me to believe no, this won't happen.

Why do you want to play Bama for the title?

The only way I could see this happening is if there were no other 1 loss teams. I also don't think it's fair to the winner of the first game. Why should that team have to beat the same team twice in a season?

Only way I see it is if LSU is undefeated, Alabama has 1 loss, and the other teams either have 2 losses or they lose in their conference championship game (losing late thus dropping them in the polls and 'Bama jumps them).

Gary Danielson had verbalized this before. Good idea.

Florida has come about as close to this as we'll ever see.

In 1996, their only defeat was a cheapshot-filled regular season loss to FSU...They landed a rematch in the Sugar Bowl for the national title and routed the 'Noles....

Let's say LSU-Bama is a nail-biter, defensive struggle and the game is decided on a last second block of an extra point meant to tie the game. In all other regards, the teams played evenly with no fluke scores. There is enough time left in the year at that point for the winner to go on and stay #1... win the CG and the loser to get back to #2 and stay there. Even if Boise is 12-0, with that schedule, there is absolutely no way I can fathom Boise beating out a 1 loss LSU or Bama under those circumstances. No way! The public will be clamoring for the rematch. You guys think the NC game last year was super expensive?
OMG! A Bama/LSU NC game? Nosebleed seats will be going for $5000 each!

and to all the people who say.. it's only been one game.. so much season left.. well no shite. this guy is simply asking a what if. he even stated in the op that it is not likely..

so if one sec school is undefeated and another 1 has 1 loss. i definitely see it being realistic if everyone else has 1 loss.

on a side note- i cannot believe fsu is now ranked #5.. it's like they did that just to do oklahoma a favor.. but i'm not calling any one else over-rated bc i feel major college football is down all across the conferences..
