The LHN has the potential to go down as one of the biggest blunders we've ever seen in college football, IMO. It has already cost the Big 12 TAMU, and it seems likely than within a week or two it may cost it OU and OSU as well.

Any Texas fans thinking that this was a pretty bad move?

I think you might be overstating that a little bit.

A&M has always found something to whine about, and if OU and OSU leave, Texas will likely go with them.

It was an offer for 300 million dollars, I can't really blame anyone for taking it.

TAMU's pants would explode if the SEC offered UT to the conference, on the condition that they are a Tier 3 revenue level, while the other 13 or 15 teams all on an equal sharing basis.

Not gonna happen, but it would be epic for TAMU.

Here's a question I have...

If OU and Okie State bolt without taking UT or anyone else with them, how long does the conference survive?

The league would still have a traditional power in Texas but would be down to 7 members (UT, Baylor, Tech, Kansas, K-State, Mizzou, Iowa State). Under NCAA rules, they'd have to add an 8th member to retain recognition as a conference.

With every team in the conference looking for a soft landing, I'd think they would be hard-pressed to find an 8th member who brings anything to the table.

Texas will not remain in a conference without them. Whether that means pursuing another conference or going independent, the Big 12 would be done.

Most UT fans I know haven't "bought" anything.

Yes, it was apparently a dumb move by the UT admin. but could get dumber if they don't end up in the Pac-16. The Big 12 died effectively when Neb. and Colorado left... and in the case of Neb. it had as much to do with their poor record against UT and OU than anything else, and apparently both were paying the refs too. They left before the LHN business got out of hand though.

Not at all. I have LHN and I LOVE it. I couldn't care less about the butthurt other fans opinions.

Everyone who claims Texas should have to share their money should be required to come out and say "I'm a Socialist and think I should pay more taxes to provide for the little sisters of the poor"

You are right. We should have stayed in a sinking ship of a conference, while you test ran your network so you could implode the conference 5 years later.

what is it we're crying about? I love everything about this. You guys finally get to stay in a world that revolves all around you while we go to where people just drink beer and watch football. To each his own

I'm all about tooting our horns on how rich and American we are... but that attitude is not where college football is right now. And I'd rather share revenue with bigger siblings instead of actually playing the "little sisters of the poor" every week. Maybe I'm in the minority of UT fans.

Not at all. It's a network failing to get picked up and its also looking to be the death of the Big XII ...

Colossal failure imo.

You can blame that on ESPN, which I think has done incredible damage to college sports.

This could be a great thing. If this leads to super conferences and a playoff, the LHN will have been the greatest thing in college football history. Think about it...

Hmmm. We didn't whine, we just went about our business of leaving. All the whineage is coming from Travis County.

To say that tu would follow anyone is laughable. Really? I think most whorns would harikari before they 'followed' OU. (please go indy, please go indy)

Atari should buy a lottery ticket. He's one of the 2% of people in Texas to actually get the LHN
