playmaker we've ever had on defense? He's literally worth 7-10 points a game imho.

I've been asking myself this for the last 5-6 games. I keep trying to humble myself, but he may be. I've never seen a playmaker quite the like of this guy. He's just such a natural.

I think he has the potential to be very special. I think he was defiantly the MVP of this game.

I've never seen anything like him. I'm serious he's as much a one of a kind as PP was; different skills but for a nickel back to be this much of a consistent difference maker (and I'm talking direct points on the board difference maker) is jet unheard of. Quickly becoming my favorite tiger DB of all time.

Outstanding player.

Setting the bar a bit high, though.

Yet. . . so far, so good

He is special. Smart tenacious tough and makes plays to win the game almost every single game. Only football player I can compare him to is polomalu

Dude is ALWAYS around the ball. He was inches away from a pick 6 for a 2nd touchdown. Even when other people pick off a pass for us, T-Rex was right there next to him.

Straight up baller!!!

He may well already be. He is just so damned savvy. I've never seen anything like it.

Tyrann is just a beast.

I call it "twitchy". Playmaker may be a better word. He's the real deal.

His size may limit some aspects of his game, but geez he makes up for it and plays physical regardless.

Great comparison IMO. Polomalu has the measurables, but they are very similar players.

TM7 is already my favorite Tiger of all time. I've been impressed with him; but after last year's win vs Bama; he's been my man.

It will be interesting to see what his measurables are by his senior year as far as him being big enough for the NFL. I agree that by the time he leaves he will be one of the all time great DB's to have played at LSU.

I've said this before, and I'm the biggest critic of these type of statements.. some dudes have a knack or a nose for the football... like Charles Woodson... Mathieu has that. There's no way to measure it. Won't show up on a box score. Won't show up on a 40. But Mathieu always knows where the ball is, and he's usually by it.

He reminds me so much of Antoine Winfield that it's frightening.

Yeah, he's gotta be one of the most instinctive, amazing players that we've ever had. You can't put a description on him. He's everywhere he needs to be!!!

100% agree, dude has a knack for the football. He's always in the right placa at the right time. Dare I say TM7 may end up being a better college football player than PP7?
