Tradition chuckles at those ashamed of their past.

Tradition is the time-honored conqueror of countless fads. Otherwise, Fad would carry a different title: Tradition.

Tradition is transcendent and unsurpassable. It is not duplicable.

Tradition is the ultimate evolutionary champion, the product of every rite, legend and ceremony of countless generations.

Tradition is most revered by those who belong and most feared by those who don't.

Pfft! Hell yeah Darron Thomas was high. Hell yeah he was smoking with Cliff that time and I am sure with Masoli during the other cop pull-over.

I am not naive. A very large percentage of young athletes smoke dope. Its why the NBA very rarely even UA's for it. If they did, they would be missing 1/2 the damn league.

I do not have any issue with kids smoking dope. So long as they are not endangering others. And, yes, driving 118 per hour is endangering others.

And, for the record, as I see it mentioned here all the time, dope is NOT legal in Oregon. It is simply a misdemeanor charge for anything less than 1 oz. Above 1 oz and you can be considered a dealer.

Oregon does have medical marijuana. And, I have heard its simple to get a card / be approved for it. Oregon also has assisted suicide.

Have you ever been to Oregon? How is being a hour from the ocean,( here in eugene/springfield area) a hour away from some of the best snowboarding in the nation, 10 minutes from world class fishing, and hunting, hiking, camping undesirable???? Oregon is a very pretty state, and regardless of what people say, it dont rain 24/7, we have awsome spring, summer and falls, and yah we do get some rain in the winter, but its way over exaggerated on the amount we actually get.

Pay attention to what you are reading. This whole process will go a lot smoother.

like i said on another thread, tradition is for people who get a yearly colonoscopy. The SEC is built on the fact that they're just the best damn conference in the country and they have a bevy of five star recruits in the south. They will always be a powerhouse.

I have a lot of respect for the tradition of the SEC schools, but outside of the SEC fan base the mentality is different. What has "tradition" done for historical powers like UMiami, Washington, Notre Dame, and Michigan the last ten years?

This is the 21st century and we are in a new age of college football. TV is everything. If a school wins big and markets itself well, they will continue to stay at the top. Oregon has been winning and may be the most marketed team in the country because of its exciting style of play and relationship with Nike and Disney.

Simply put, Oregon is just so damn fresh, and we rely on this to pull West coast recruits.

I'm sure a few fans thought about it after the two 7-5 years we had. Thank god Louisiana doesn't have that lol

The broader point is that we scoff at the apparent belief from some in your fan base that "tradition" is boring/inconsequential. We assert that this attitude stems from teh fact that Oregon's is rather mediocre.

Tradition does not guarantee future success, but it's laughable that you woudl be dismissive of it because it's not favorable to you. College football is a game based on tradition and tradition is ONE thing that makes it great.

You're saying that since you choose not to embrace your past, it's stupid for others to do so. We disagree.

Oregon may be a trend setter, but the proof is not yet there. As strong a team as you had, you beat 1 top 25 team. 1. I don't think anyone is arguing that stagnation and over reliance on past success is the best way to go, the SEC has continued to stay ahead of and set many current trends.

Embracing tradition and future trends are not mutually exclusive.

People are taking that billboard way too seriously.

I would tell everyone to lighten up... but this is Rant.

Oregon fans - I am outraged at your perceived lack of respect for the traditions of college football. Therefore, I shall disrespect anything you have to offer.

But hey, your uniforms were fabulous.

We only attempted 6 passes in the 2nd half. Did we run it outside of the tackles even once??

Oregon knew we were running it down their throats and they couldn't do shite about it.
