I just don't get why people think that a team that was in the NC game last year is screwed because they lost a lot of starters. The backfield is really dangerous. If the offensive line doesn't get dominated then it could get ugly for LSU.

exactly, i have the upmost respect for LSU, they are the #4 team in the nation for a reason, i just dont get the lack of respect for Oregon by alot of people on here, yes i understand we arent in the SEC and that makes us pittiful in your eyes, but i think you should respect any team you face, ya just never know when that lack of respect can bite ya in the arse, just look at when Appalachin State smoked Michigan in the big house, im sure ALL Michigan fans thought that was gonna be a cake walk!

I can't think of a more striking example of this than by comparing the '09 Saints v. '10 Saints. Drew Brees looked like one of the greatest QBs in NFL history in 2009. He had sick amounts of time to throw and a very good running game to fall back on. In 2010, the running game evaporated as well as his time in the pocket. Brees was pretty pedestrian last year.

I feel like our D-Line is better than their O-Line. Outside of USC, who else really has athletes on the line like on our D-line? To sound cliche, the battle will be won in the trenches and I just don't see their undersized line being able to beat us off the line.

I'm not saying we're going to shut down their offense as a whole, but I just don't see a small runningback like LaMichael James taking 20-25 snaps, getting knocked around and running like he would in the Pac 12. Same goes for Darron Thomas.

Where my worry comes in is on offense. You prepare for quite some time for a game against a fast defense with a gameplan that more than likely had a number of option plays to what will be pretty bland(run on first and second, pass on third)....

So we'll see, but if we win, obviously it will have been the defense that wins the game, unless someone on offense has a break out game.

I respect Oregon, I just think that will 3 new OL, including a center who is making his first ever start, will have problems with our front four. I also think our defensive backs are good enough that we will be able to take chances. In the end it will come down to can Oregon stop our running game and can LSU's defensive ends keep contain.

^^^these guys will be too much for Oregon to handle^^^

LSU has always had struggles containing mobile QBs.

LSU has rarely had ends that can run like the ones on the field this year, too.

Size does not always matter. To prove my point and refute yours, go look at the recent scores (last 3 or more years) of Ducks vs Trojan's games. USC indeed has the higher rated, heavier, and supposedly better athlete OL and DL personnel; yet, Oregon has thrashed them.

Name another defensive end that anchored

Our whole defense is like that.

It will not be close.

Oregon. Dion Jordan ran the 4x100 and was a top finisher in the 110 and 300 meter hurdles. Hanna was the same.

USC is the only team with a D-line that is SEMI-comparable to LSU's this year. Yeah they've had some great athletes go through USC the past couple of years, but we both know how overhyped a lot of players have been that sign LOI's over there. Not only that, their defense has never been the focal point of the success they saw over the past 3 years.
