OU, like those who still want to make the Big 12 work, is reportedly fed up with Texas seeing how far it can push the others around with tactics like the Longhorn Network. "Texas seems to be losing friends in more places than the Big 12 over all this," said a source with deep roots in college football. "Having a network is fine. But it's just the inference that they are trying to play by a somewhat different set of rules than anyone else that creates problems."
I think any school would have taken the ESPN deal. If accepting it is arrogance then so be it.
At least now, OU has all of the facts. For the love of God, I hope the Okies aren't bitching next summer about the LHN. If they don't like it, they should call Slive right now and join the SEC with A&M or they should go to the Pac 12 with Okie State. Both conferences would love to have them.

You are a bad bluffer, Drunkenstein...

I'm not sure why you are continuing to argue with these guys on this board. They love their conference because their individual team does not have historical success and will never understand the lack of concern Texas fans have for the big 12.
A&M is ready to get paid slightly more money to lose the same amount of games. That's fine, it will not hurt UT recruiting for A&M to lose 5 conference games every year.

so you're saying the ESPN bus was just passing by Austin, TX and left a $300 million contract giftwrapped on your university's doorstep.. all on a their own?

lulz @ UTa if you don't think moving to the SEC will help A&M in recruiting, therefore making them better than UT in coming years. Good luck selling a schedule with KU, K State, Baylor, etc. to recruits.

5-7. 2-6 conference. Dead last in the Big XII South. You've lost your last 5 conference games, IN A ROW.
Its mighty mighty big talk from a team that did jack crap last year.

Why would it? There is no reasonable answer.

One year, that is the normal record for A&M
Who's the starting quarterback this year, squints?
And for the record, I don't mean to dog on a 20 year old. I hope he and Gideon get 5 more years of eligibility.

Put LSU's record up against that of Texas. Historically, it isn't even close.

You both have three NC's. Seems even to me.

Texas has 4, (if Bama gets to claim 13, UT gets 4) and the second most wins of any college football team all time.

you really want to use their logic?

So you want to compare just one sport, or all sports?
You do realize LSU has the most NC (all sports) than any other SEC school, right? Yes, I know the bulk of them came in track, but to say LSU, historically, has not had much success in the SEC is moronic, at best.

Your full of it. If it was OU with the network you guys would be crying like the TSIPS you are. Fact of the matter is that the NCAA should have never allowed the LHN go forward if their purpose is supposed to police and prevent unfair advantages. You guys hold up Mack as some kind of Saint among coaches. That's BS too. A&M will leave and should leave. Texas doesn't belong in any conference. They should just become an independent. Texas doesn't give a shite about the Big 12 and could careless if it stays around or not. All they care about in the end is to surround themselves with a schedule that includes one game at the most in most years that they may not be favored in, sleep walk through puff cake schedule and demand a bid to the BCS Championship game based on beating nobody except OU. Fact of the matter is that Texas would never accept a bid to the SEC because you wouldn't be able to stomach the schedule and no team or institution would put up with your bullshite.
