I hear a lot of folks talking about how LSU struggles against the spread. I hear just as many saying that Auburn gave us a games worth of ways to contain the Oregon offense, since LSU's defense is no less (overall) talented as the Auburn 2010 defense, and arguably better.

So.....It got me wondering how many differences of note Oregon might make in its offensive approach. Sure, they will develop a specfic plan catered to try to exploit whatever Schemes/personnel they see as vulnerable, but overall, will it be about the same?

also...Will Chief adjust significantly by asking his coaching fraternity around the country, or try a similar Chief defense that he has used against the spread before?

All I've heard is that they are going to try to speed up how long it takes to get plays off.

Here is the thing, Oregon did okay against the Auburn defense besides a few small things that can be fixed. Darron Thomas didn't make good decisions at times especially in short yardage situations. You better believe that was worked on a lot over the summer. Twice oregon went inside the 20 and came away with no points because they couldn't convert in short yardage. If they come away with 10 points in those situations, then no one would be talking about Auburn containing Oregon.

Granted, anyone can look back and get rid of the bad plays to prove their point, but in order for LSU to win I believe they are going to have to hold Oregon to a lot less yards then Auburn did. If Oregon gets 450 yards I think they are scoring around 30 points, I don't see how LSU gets that many.

They have added a new TZR position that they started working oon last but didn't use it for the NCG. It is a postion for the back up RB Kenjon Barner. He has been over shadowed by LMJ but his out out has been just as good. He got injured last year and was out 3 or 4 games with a concussion, but basically they are trying to get all there best playmakers on the field at the same time to run the tempo even faster than last year so the defense doesn't have a chance to get into there 2 deep subs in the game.

Our Secondary this year >>>>>>> Auburns last year

Plust Oregon lost its two best recievers.

Here is the thing, LSU did WAY better offensively against Auburn than Oregon did and Auburn played their BEST game of the season against LSU (AND THERE IS NO ONE THAT IS GOING TO ARGUE THAT - NO ONE!!!)

Oregon is going to need a lot of gimmicks, misdirection, and trick plays to beat LSU. Oregon is a very good team, but don't make the mistake of thinking we are one of your typical opponents.

I don't Oregon use both backs at the same time for an extended period of time. It is important to keep RBs fresh and playing them both at the same time wouldn't do that.

Really?

Your total yards against Auburn was less than 250...thats rushing and passing......yeah i know Patrick Peterson kept you all in the ball game with his KO returns, but you all failed all day long to score you had to play major catch up in the 4th quarter to make it even close of a game. Were as we had to do the same but we did tie them and give us a chance to win, where as LSU did not. You talk about gimmick plays that Oregon runs..name one...lol please. You run a wild cat and I believe you had to do that in the 4th quarter of that game with a 40 yd pass from Ware.

Auburn was running all over your arse to the tune of 440 yds of rushing.

Lets get back to Gimmicks, we don't run wild cat offense. Are offense is so simple I would think you could even understand what we are doing....HELL we announce it in the way we line up! The reason our offense is so good is beacause we run it to perfection. No if the D over plays it or anticipates what we are doing it has outs to combat that......plain and simple.

It's not ment to work all the time and some times it doesn't, but when it is, you all we get a first hand look at why we have been the #1 Offense in the country.

Yes it is important to keep backs fresh but they both will not be running the ball at the same time.. The point of it is we are putting our 2 best RB's (Who some ppl say) are the best backfield tandem last year, but this is this year and we can argue all about it and i am sure we will lol. We put our playmakers out there now you can't just worry about LMJ, now you have to worry about all the other guys and we can spread the d out even further. In theory this opens up holes some where in the defense and we will find them.

So yeah we are using our 2 best back at once, but we will be using 3 RB's this year I assume and with the true frosh De'Anthony Thomas he will be able to sub in for which ever one needs rest and yet he has yet to play a down in CFB. I don't think we fall of much with him in. He has blowing up our D in practice from what i hear, he consistenly is busting off big runs.

All of this is false pertaining to the lsu vs auburn game.

I'm more worry that Les is not making the scout team wear gay green uniforms.

Changing Uni's is just a distraction tactic.
I think the NCAA should make them pick only 12 per season.

If that's the case, I must admit I feel much better about our chances.. Offenses that have given us fits are the ones with a Tebow, Newton, or even McFadden in the Wildcat... Auburn lined up in so damn many formations with TE's and H-Backs with the intenion of outflanking us.. They did this all game and we failed to adjust.. I would much prefer to see Doubles and Trips the whole game... Regardless, LSU must stay sound in their responsibilities on the Zone Read.. If we do this, we can win.. We can't get into a shootout!!!
