Listening to Ungelsby last night, shite's gonna get real...

This is my paraphrase but it's exactly the scenario he painted:
He's gonna push through the University to get JJ reinstated regardless of the havoc it would create.
He mentioned he has no experience in what to do in order to get JJ back onto the team, but that he was gonna do everything he could to get it done and that there had to be some University process through which it is done.
If you thought it was over and we were just playing football, think again.
Stay tuned.

This would all be settled if the real kicker would come forward. I think it would be more disturbing to find out that the players were covering for someone and letting JJ take the fall.

Unless the charges are dropped, I don't see how he could convince LSU to reinstate JJ. I'm not even sure I would want them to with felony charges pending against him.

This worries me as the team/coaches do not need any further distractions or negative publicity for LSU in general.
I agree with the suspension for now ... and he can't legally make the university do anything can he? What == will he sue LSU? I'm sure there are precedents out there that will say suspend until the legal side is over.
?????

x 1 million bajillion
(eta: anyone think JJ is really taking the fall? I don't know if I could do that unless he's counting on this really going away but I don't know how any time soon)

Hopefully clearing JJ of the charges is his first priority. I don't think he should be so concerned with his position on the team right now. If the university says no, then that's the way it should be. Pressuring LSU to allow him back on the team is not a good move IMO.

They need to let this go through the legal channels. JJ can still redshirt if he is found not guilty.

You don't know for sure that JJ wasn't the person kicking the guy. And I'm sure the players werent covering for anyone else to get Jefferson in trouble.
And if you do know for sure it wasn't JJ doing the kicking then why haven't you stood up and went to the police yet?
Idiotic post.

Ungelsby's point was there it no time for a normal process to occur here.
That by the time a normal process occurred, JJ wouldn't even be arraigned until the season is almost over.
That that costs him his shot at his future earning potential.
There's just a lot of chaos an aggressive atty, pushed by a selfish client, can make here.
And that's before you pull out the first race card, which will definitely be dropped at some point as this unfolds.

If he insists on doing that, I hope LSU says "fine, JJ's not suspended, but he's not starting until the issue is resolved".

geeez. Nothing is ever JJ's fault.

Anyone who thought it was over is retarded. If he was dismissed, it would be over. He wasn't. Miles even said that they hadn't yet decided to exclude them from practice and travel. This will be a topic of interest/concern until they are cleared and reinstated, or dismissed from the program.

I disagree with your assessment of what Unglesby said. He said getting JJ reinstated would not involve legal action. He said that would be out of the question. He was pretty much saying he had to find out how to go about doing it through discussion with the university and Les Miles. He was asked directly if he would pursue legal action to get JJ reinstated and he stressed that was not an option. If he takes that off the table I would hardly say he would do anything to get him playing again. He sounded like he would just have discussions not create havoc.

only if you can show he was going to make that money.
JJ was NEVER going to make the draft based on his play up to this point.
Sorry.

I'm certain there is nothing Ungelsby would be able to do.....scholarships can be revoked for just about anything. This could become a major distraction and I would hope this guy would not allow this to happen...I think this would get rather ugly quick!

Then don't get in a bar fight.

I think at this point Jefferson would have rated out the real kicker

Maybe try to sue LSU I don't think he has the grownds to as with these scholarships there are behavioral stipulations and I am sure there is a clause saying the school or HC could dismiss the player for behavioral issues
We will see in any case it won't happen over night
