Will there be enough alcohol?
Posted on 8/24/11 at 5:35 pm to LSUGrrrl
Can you just show up and buy your way in? I don't know if we want to do your party or go to humperdinks. I don't want to buy tickets in advance and be stuck with them if we decide to do humperdinks or something else.

Will tickets be available for purchase the day of?
Posted on 8/24/11 at 5:42 pm to LSUGrrrl
I don't believe "tailgate refreshments" will be a problem :-) Yes, you may purchase your tickets day-of, if you wish. However, parking tickets & shuttle service will be provided on a first come, first serve basis. Will also be a great post game party location.

LSU Grrrl, can you find out if the Dallas Alumni will add more shuttles from their designated hotels? I am staying at the Hyatt and wanted to catch the alumnis shuttle to JGilligans

What variety of adult beverages will be covered by the $60 cover fee? Thanks in advance, we'll have about 20 of us there.

you can ride with me to the stadium if you want to .. i am staying at the Hyatt too ..

is this gonna be worth it or should I hit humperdinks? I figure im gonna spend at least 60 anyway...

i think it will be MIND NUMBINGLY packed as these things almost always are for games of this magnitude .. if it was limited to JUST card-carrying LSU alumni it might be different .. but they will get overwhelmed as usual and i am sure have selected a venue that will be 1/20th the size needed for the demand ..

I can ask about the hotel shuttles but those were hotel decisions... I'll get back to you on it.
I'm sure both Humperdinks and J Gilligins will be a lot of fun & full of LSU tailgating atmosphere. The upside to J Gilligans is the free parking, shuttle to & from stadium as much as you want (shuttle to stadium for Gameday, back to J G for cocktails & tailgating & back for the game, etc). There are over 1000 parking spots and is free to every car with at least 2 tailgate ticket holders.
As for crowding, we learned (or taught these Dallas peeps) a lesson. We have the entire inside of the bar and are tenting large areas outside with fans/misters for some help with the heat.
Tailgate beverages will be provided by our sponsors and typically include beer... However, due to insane TX laws we cannot advertise alcohol as part of the package. Beverages won't be a problem.
Personally, the shuttle back & forth is worth it for me. I can see Gameday, then party, then go to the game without driving! (the traffic will be horrible & don't forget our friends in blue)

There was a shuttle from the Hyatt available originally. However, bc so few people registered in time, it was cancelled. The Hilton shuttle will accommodate those who did sign up for it but, unfortunately, that shuttle is now full.

if the party is too crowded, Lemon Bar in West village is having a LSU party along with patio grill.

Yes you can go to the WILL CALL Area and buy tickets. This is an all inclusive package with lots of Free Parking & Free shuttle to and from the game, beer, soft drinks, food, music etc. Lots of seating. Much bigger venue than Humperdinks and lots more parking. Really is the best value. Jumbo Tron and additonal TV's watch the game.

I hope they have enough beer and enough people to service the kegs. I went to a dallas chapter crawfish boil and there were 2 tapped kegs for literally hundreds of people. I left to go buy my own beer only after paying to get "free" beer At the party. I hope you dont have to stand in line 20 minutes to get a Beer everytime you want one. That will be a huge party buster.
Please have enough taps and people pouring!

Yes, the 2010 crawfish boil was snakebit with the beer situ. Broken tapsetc. However, the issues were worked through and the 2011 crawfish boil was a huge success with no beer issues at all.
