This night was a black eye on our armed forces

do you understand what this phrase means? Let meexplain it to you. Saying something is a black eye against a certain group of people doesn't mean ALL of them are bad or guilty. What it means is the actions of a certain number of their ilk has put a black mark on the reputation of the whole group. Certainly you understand this.

If a an exeutive in my company steals money from clients, it puts a black mark on my whole company. It doesn't mean all of us that work for the company are thieves.

why is there a Marine in Baton Rouge? Is he a reservist? there are no bases near that area unless the guy is a recruiter, on leave, or a reservist?

Didn't he just finish basic? Maybe he is doing the leave thing where he works with the recruiter?

People who are currently in the armed forces are as follows:

1. People with family history to enlist.
2. Those who attended a service academy.
3. Those who did not have another opportunity (either job or school).
4. People who enlisted after 9/11.

I'd say that accounts for 98% of people in the military. The Marine in the fight, falls under #3.

Fwiw, I blame Jacques doucet for all of this.

These wives, marines and former marines posting on JJ's page are only doing so because they heard:

"Jordan Jefferson kicked a marine in the head"

That's it. That's why they are mad. They don't know the facts. No one does at this point.

They don't care. It's a mob mentality and they are very passionate about the corps they love.

I truly can't stand this dude at all. I've seen him in person and he always reminds me of a 10 year old boy scout.

There's a line between passionate and delusional. Those assholes crossed it. And, as is often the case, they know better than even the general public how many shitheads are in the Corps. Half of those wives are probably banging some "honorable" buddy of their husband's while he's away.

I completely agree. You should see the Frontline documentary called "the wounded infantry". Explains the mindset of the vast majority of people who enter the military these days.

I guess that's why my brother had college completely paid for and turned it down because he wanted to be in the Marines.

But let's just keep assuming shite, why don't we?

Lots of assumptions being thrown around.

To insinuate that everyone in the military are shite heads with nothing else to do is completely ignorant and absurd.
