Hardly. There's not even a noticeable difference between most guns, comes down to preference. Once you're level 10 or so, you'll have access to some bad arse guns. Some of the guns you get at higher levels are inferior to the starting gun.

As assault, roll with the XM8 when you get it, it's a beastly little thing. It requires only 3,000 assault points (roughly). Last I played the AN-94 was the best assault rifle, mainly because people are lazy.

Right now mainly engineer. Fell in love with the SCAR when I got it and finally have the red dot. Didn't care for the gun with the assault class (whatever it's called), and I'm not too much of a sniper. Although I did rock some pretty BA no scopes the other day

SCAR is sick. Best Engineer gun by far.. the UMP is good, but it shoots funny IMO. Engineer gets their best stuff early.. the 2nd missile launcher is wayyy better than the 3rd. Anti-vehicle mines are the shite too.

Any class can mark vehicles, it is under pistol specialization.

Sniper- M95= 1 shot kills stomach above, all other weapons take head shot (Gol Magnum takes 1 shot to heart as well)

M95 is nowhere near as good as the starter/GOL. Especially on hardcore.

There's really not a huge difference between the XM8 and the M19 for example. On hardcore that's even more true. Specializations are way more important than which weapon you use.
