Baylor is the tick on the scrote of public universities in Texas. They have some political sway and they use it better than any other group. They were able to politic their way into the big 12 in the first place. They see this as a threat to their "well-being" and will do whatever they can to stop the move, even if UofH is a suitable replacement.
This is not all. You know why A&M is the only school of its size and history to NOT have a law school? Baylor. They have lost a lot of their power recently, and it's starting to show. This is their last-ditch effort to keep planted on Daddy's nutsack. The dominoes are about to fall.
