Sooners are a Bunch of Candy Asses - Want No Part of the SEC

That is damn good news to me. I never wanted them in the SEC to begin with. Forget the video ... go straight to the story.

Such a revelation brands the Sooners as wusses. Which they're not. OU is playing at Florida State in five weeks. Next year, the Sooners play TCU and Notre Dame.

Not a news flash.

Honestly, I don't understand why Texas and OU would not do everything possible to keep the Big 12 together. Other than the Big East, they have the easiest path to a BCS bowl and a possible BCS Championship bid as the two best teams in a not as tough conference now that Nebraska has bailed. A&M should stay as well. They have a chance to be 3rd best team in their conference and with Texas or OU down in a given year, they are just one upset away from a conference title. In the SEC they will likely be maybe the 6th or 7th best team in the conference. I understand being at odds with Texas but I'm not sure this move is their best interests if winning is a primary goal.

Sooners don't drink. Road trips there would suck big time.

It's not all bad. I'd definitely make the trip.

+1 I don't understand why everyone cannot see this.

Everyone does see it.
What people dreaming of a schedule playing Iowa State, Kansas State, Baylor and Kansas in football don't seem to realize is this:
You are playing Iowa State, Kansas State, Baylor and Kansas in football, yearly. It's like turning Xbox settings down to easy and playing dynasty mode, IRL.
Yeah you have a pretty good shot at winning all those games, but nobody but you gives a crap, and you should be embarrassed about doing it.

Sorta like OU in the old Big 7 before NU got their shite together.
Sorta like UT in the old SWC before A&M and Arkansas got their shite together.
I will never know why Nebraska and Missouri ever agreed to the Big 12 in the first place. As long as NU was winning NC's the $$$$ would come. The landgrab to try and entice UT and A&M exploded when Tech and Baylor were forced upon the Big 8.

I imagine it had to do with the BCS, TV, and Texas's population. Same things that drive expansion now, just not nearly as much money involved.
Nebraska also didn't control the old big 8 like Texas does the big 12 now. So it wasn't really in a position to control switching the big 8 to the big 12.
Yeah, it was a big mistake on everyone's part looking back. Especially the northern big 8 schools. It's not fun being in a conference where you either give Texas whatever they want or hope maybe the big east bails you out when Texas decides they can get a bigger better deal elsewhere if you don't.

Totally true...another thing that many miss is that OU defines its success by setting things up to have the easiest path to just get to the BCS Championship game, rather than doing what it needs to do to actually win it.

Perhaps it's easier to win championships with those pathetic schedules. But it all comes down to $ and if A&M can make much more in the SEC and be on equal footing with the other teams, you make the move.

As a resident of Norman, OK...OU definitely needs to pursue coming to the SEC. Home games here are boring as frick. I've gone to Baylor, Kansas State, Colorado games and they never mean anything in terms of excitement, importance, etc.
The biggest game I've gone to is Texas Tech a couple years ago, primetime, when both were undefeated. It was a hyped game but the Sooners being the Sooners destroyed them. I also went to the FSU game last season...OU killed them, too. Even when the regular season games (outside of Texas and OSU) are supposed to be tough, OU makes it not so.
But my main problem is, more often than not...the regular season for OU is boring. Plus they've been getting throttled by real schools in the post season. They need to go to the SEC to prove to nay sayers they can compete. Because as an OU fan, too...I kind of doubt how they stack up to the big boys. But at the same time I can definitely see them being a top 3-4 school if they did come to the SEC (behind LSU, Bama, maybe Florida).
P.S.: This academics thing is bullshite, yeah, they're a fantastic school...but like someone above said...do they think they're some closet Ivy League school? Suck a cock.

A lot of the OU fans at the Sugar Bowl we ran into were a little on the snobby side. I was suprised. Why would anyone from Oklahoma be snobby?

I lived in Oklahoma for about a year. It's their personality in general. Very bland people.

Being from OK, there are plenty of stuck up people and 99.9% of them are Sooner fans.
Oklahoma is a fine place to live and most people are as down to earth and friendly as it gets.

For the love of GOD - it's about consistent yearly revenue for the entire program - based on future growth and TV - it's not about hoisting crystal balls in ONE sport like all the tards want to make it out to be!
