I Don't Want a Name Change Please

I don't want a name change. However, I do have an hypothetical situation for you to consider.
Let's suppose there was a poster who created a much higher percentage of quality posts than the vast majority of posters. Let's say it was 7%.
Let's suppose this certain poster discovered that, through a series of unfortunate events, the threads he started would quickly be filled with crap posts by crap posters . . . like little barnacles on the bottom of a boat. And he lacked the ability to prevent or remove the barnacles.
Let's suppose this certain poster wanted to start posting under a different nom de plume.
Let's suppose this certain poster let his old User Name die from neglect and other natural causes, and he created a new User Name.
Let's suppose this certain poster renounced and forswore his old User Name, and he promised, pledged, and covenanted that he would never again post under the old User Name. (Let's suppose that the old User Name was whacked, banned, and inactivated such that the poster could no longer post under it.)
Finally, let's suppose that this certain poster continued to post from his place of employment and home under the new User Name, and, thus, would be immediately recognizable to admins as an "alter" of the poster.
Would the admins allow such a thing to happen with alerting others to the new User Name?
Hypothetically speaking.

Seems reasonable, but this is TD and alters aren't allowed. Rules are rules.

I think the threshold is 8.5%.
If the poster only intended to change his/her name and not also his/her posting style, then how long would he/she expect to go on before the trend repeated itself?
