I'd go to Pokie and get soem of his Boar's Head cold cuts, pastrami, corned beef etc and some of his cheeses. Make some SAD, use Alton Brown's recipe. Remember the sandwich rule number one, soft filler, soft bread; firm filler, firm bread.

We just hosted a bridal shower, I made some big loaves of spinach bread and made a Calvinsesque chicken salad in the food processor, big hit. If you don't want to make bread, use sections of quality baguettes. If the bread had a firm crust cut the bread on a slight bias, makes it nicer to eat.

This was what I expected. If I wanted simple I would have not posted. And if they don't like them they can make their own.

It's an adult function with alcohol for kids school parents offsite. The Southern Belle won't cut it. At least not if I'm making them. Cucumber is a good light addition. The crust is the best part of rustic breads so I don't want to cut that off.
