Yeah. Every coach gets a one year reprieve.

If Texas isn't firing Mack Brown for going 5-7, then we're not going to fire Miles.

Plus, we just extended his contract, so...

From a monetary perspective relative to his contract extension, it is my understanding that he could go 4-8 for probably the next two seasons and not lose his job.

Saban would have a much better chance of surviving 4-8 than miles. hell miles was a "lucky idiot" when he was winnning the national title. if we was 4-8 people would think he was the dumbest coach of all time

That was when Les was squeaky clean. Now after sanctions, this isn't the case anymore.

And yes, he could go 2-10 this year and not be fired. He has a built in excuse for the year already in the unfortunate diagnosis of Krag's health.

The point is, because Alleva gave a huge extension/new contract, he could go 0-12 this year and LSU could not afford to fire him. Want has nothing to do with it...ability does.

Rantards on this board wanted his neck in a noose when he was 7-0 last season.

You see what you want to see. Facts are not well received on the Rant. Thank God the season will start soon and the MSB will thrive again.

It is a fact that the sanctions LSU received would allow LSU to let Les go without the huge buyout. I then said he will not be let go no matter what because the news of the day is a LEGIT excuse should the team stumble. Not sure how that's negative.

And when was he "lucky" in 2007 when winning the national championship? He certainly wasn't lucky against Arkansas and Kentucky now was he ?????

I guess the 48-7 win over #9 Va.Tech was "luck" to you? Or the 38-24 beating of #1 Ohio State?

By the way, Miles is 2-2 against Saban, going to OT in '08, and losing a chance at a possible win against the corrupt refs in '09.
