Anyone a little nervous about these guys? I know they are talented but zero game experience.

I should be more nervous than I am. I have a feeling that we're going to do really well in all areas of kicking.

We've been lucky the last few years in that we've had some solid kickers in Colt David and Josh Jasper. Kicker isn't really a position that you think about until they miss kicks but I'm hoping these guys can step up and make the plays when we need them

I know Alleman made the game winning kick in the 5A State Championship in the Dome. That's pretty clutch.

I feel better about Wing than Alleman. Probably kicking as well as he can Alleman won't be in Jasper's class. With scholarships limited to 23 in last February's class, the staff still saw the need to sign a kicker and got Hairston from the Dallas area. Though he'll likely be redshirted, don't you think they might have waited a year or 2 to use a scholarship on a place kicker, if they were fully confident in Alleman's abilities?

Do we still have that kicker with one arm? I can't recall his name. I heard he was really good.

I'm a bit nervous...I think field goals are more important for us than punting.

We've gotten by with mediocre punting because of solid defense...I am okay with that.

But we had drives stall on numerous times this past season, which is why guys like Jasper and David had a high number of field goals. Thankfully, they converted often. Alleman could be a key to where we wind up this year.

I am more nervous about Wing in that he might have to learn a quicker release than the aussie type kick. My biggest concern is how well the new coach handle our special teams just a ?

that's a good thing. like the long snapper (albeit more visable), if you're not hearing about them they are doing good.

Apparently we do but the OP obviously doesn't know his name; THUS Wing.

You realize he learned to kick from his father who played in the NFL, correct? He got strength from playing aussie football but is a true punter because his dad was a punter. He also came to the USA and played high school here.

I've seen this posted before. This means nothing. Kicking his first FG vs Oregon in the 4th quarter of a tie game in front of 80k is exponentially harder than what you posted.

Seth Mannon. He might be a kicker/punter I can't recall. He was a preferred walk-on but yeah all of our guys are pretty decent.

At the New Orleans Tiger Tour stop Les said that Alleman is a very "capable" kicker that has big shoes to fill but he thinks he will exceed expectations.

Thanks! I couldn't think of that guy's name! I didn't mean any disrespect referring to him that way at all, I just couldn't think of his name. Glad we still have him on the roster.

With one arm I'm pretty sure he won't be doing any punting.
