Cody Hawkins was one of the QBs on the American team.

Looks like its mostly D2/D3 college guys.

Yeah looks like guys that couldn't make it in the NFL. I think NFL guys would murder the rest of the world.

People would die.

We could probably win this competition with Parkview Baptist playing for the US.

I read about this last week the only players we send are D2/D3 guys and limited number of guys who had a cup of coffee with the NFL.

I don't think any of these games were on American tv, seems like NFL Network could have since nothing else was going on.

Okay I had to look this up and the passing is no better than a really good high school team.

Japan vs. Austria

Canada vs. France

Check out Mexico's uniforms:

Those look like high school kids...

I went to the USA-Austrailia game, we beat them 61-0...It was a joke. Our team looked like a decent college football team, and Mexico was actually pretty good too. I am in Innsbruck, Austria so I was able to catch a couple games.

And to that other poster, We only started playing this in 2007 or something. We have one both times, although it took the US 2OT the first time to beat japan in 2007.

So an American team won a championship based around a sport that nobody else in the world likes or cares about?

Color me shocked.

They play college football in Mexico, although I'm not sure if they give out scholarships. One of my friends studied abroad at UDLA in Puebla and worked as a volunteer assistant for the team. Here are some photos (it may take a min to load).
